Well, after testing and testing and oh...playing FIFA while testing something! :crazyboy: I have now found that you can 100% certain, HEADER THE BALL WHEN UNMARKED!

My brother has done it about 8-10 times now, all he pressed is the 'Y' button and he says he holds it down. :)

I myself have managed to do a couple of power headers from crossing the ball in (not from a cross - ball out of play) by holding down the shooting button.

So, the heading requires good timing, which sadly I am not able to do at the moment. :(

Well, in the manual, they say that you really have to time headers well. If you press too soon or too late, you'll get a bad header or even miss.

Are you heading the ball while unmarked in the defensive end? And what is the 'Y' buttons function for us non XBox players?

I would say that you are talking out of your hat.
If a tech support from EA says u can't do the move.................
Where is the patch fs?
Just cos they release another Fifa every year - apart from the years they release 2 -why should we be satisfied with not being able to curl the ball and head whilst on your own?

It's like having a sniper rifle in a FPS that doesn't zoom in ffs.
Patch it EA u fookers!

Chill man; I've got in contact with the EA guy who said it couldn't be done and he said SOMEONE ELSE informed him! It isn't so straight forward you know, it's not like "It's EA’s game in Canada, so the EA UK people should know everything". They couldn't even tell me if you could make the wall jump or not and they finally said the AI does it for you! :rolleyes:

What I'm saying is that all though someone told this EA dude you can't header the ball when unmarked, I have witnessed it happened a good 10 times!! :)

hmmm was wondering...

now they say it takes timing thats a given yeah what about the players actual heading ability when attempting a header??

when a player is free and the ball is decent height i have no problem heading myself on PS2 i think dependent on lvl your playing and lvl your opposition is i.e Real madrid players with better allround abilitys compared to say playing Partick Thistle (no offence PT fans:))

...then maybe just maybe its harder to head or win headers during challenges vs real madrid than it is agaisnt Partick Thistle???not tried lower lvls myself think i may try it to see if its easier to head the ball vs easier op been playing on pro since i got just mastering getting my players back behind the ball when i lose it atmo:)

i score plenty of attacking headers from runs including a few diving ones and i dont use assist read somewhere it still heads in for you with assist off have to say i have not noticed that yes the player will go for ball but he wont head as far as i could see with assist off unless you press the right key i.e shoot for volly or head.

i think the power of heading is still too weak and as i found to my cost pressing the triangle button to head in your own box drags the keeper out and to his knees and the comp just heads over him and has you screaming at the tv "I DIDNT BLOODY PRESS THE CHARGE BUTTON" hehe think that needs fixing myself i now use the volly button to clear managed a couple of sideways scissor kick clearences majority of time they usually get a shot in but keeper saves.

i scored a header with owen once............it's possible.........if it's in the game, it's in the game.............

i tried all night -> no succes

I played in training mode (cheat)
to try and find out how the make a header UNMARKED.
I lobbed the ball to another player for over a 100 times,
pressed, pushed, held the header buttons 'W' or 'A' but
nothing happend except for some stupid bicycle kick no and then.
But no header whatsoever.

It's a great game but shooting control and the header problem
make it damn frustrating.

i have tried it but no success at all but anyway when you cross the ball in then press the shoot button and hold it the power up bar up bar comes up and then the player heads the ball but i doubt if it adds any power to the header



but if somebody knows how to head when unmarked please reply


also when i pass a high ball to player he dosent head it at all even if there is a cpu player near ie the cursor has already gone to that player(thick) ie the pass is going straight to him al i can do is the volley if somebody knows it please reply

HEY NICK CLUBMAN!!!

Could you tell everybody whether you play this game on XBox, PS2 or PC. Saying you have witnessed heading unmarked doesn't help us very much if we don't know what format you've seen/done it on.

This game is great and F@CKING annoying!!!!!!

So every one can head one their on apart from the people on pc? is that right?

I have played it on xbox and ps2 and can head on my own.

Must be a bug in pc version.

Must be, must be!

But the heading on own happens most often and is easier with two players' on the same team, as you can set each other up and get into space, etc, OR! It might just be ONLY possible with two people on same team!! :confused:

Now I'm confused, lol and EA HAVE CONFIRMED that the wall jumps automatically for us Xbox users, as though you can make it jump on others versions, it's pointless to an extent, as it doesn't work. :(
