He was wrong to drop Beckham. He dropped him for all the wrong issues. The same issues that also make other people treat him with disrespect, and none of those issues have anything to do with football.
I'm happy that he's back in. Now we might see a little more blood and guts from this team of McClarens. Something they have been missing big time since Beckham was dropped.
You look at players like Maldini. Yes he is getting on a bit now and he might have lost a yard or two of late, but his name is first on the teamsheet for his club and his country, despite his age. Why? Because apart from the experience this guy has under his belt, and his vision for the game, and his ability, he is a commanding figure on the pitch where just his presence there inspires others to perform. Beckham brings the same qualities to England.
The fans wanted him back, (I think they made that very clear all the way through the last England game), and the fans got him back. Good on him.
Hargreaves..... I do know that he was excused from training with the England squad this week to sort out his transfer to Man u, so maybe thats all there is to it really. Nice that Owen is coming to the EPL. He must be well chuffed to finally play his football in England. Germany has been kind to him and he owes them everything, but I think he always hoped to come here one day.
Shame he picked THAT club though......HAHAHAHAHA....just kidding guys , just kidding
Aha... Hargreaves is suspended just like Rooney, therefore not in the squad.
As for Beckham, his cons were starting to seriously outweigh the pros and consistently so since 2004. It's a good idea to have him in the squad, but he shouldnt be getting near the first 11 ever again.

Nice to hear that Becks is back to the Engalnd NT. He has truly earned that call back after all those great performances with Real.

They should still be playing for the under 21's FFS. They should watch Beckham and realise there is more to football than just running fast. Nick's right though. Lampard has been well below the standard for the past year for England - everything he's done has been ineffective. Beckham's been in fantastic form. At least someone in the team will be able to string a few passes together.
Another thing about Beckham - I think that having him in the first 11 will raise the tempo of our game. Beckham chases the ball down everywhere on the pitch. He's been a man on a mission as of late, and his inclusion can only have positive effects. **** the people that say we taken a "backwards step".

Well to be honest I think that you can say that many England players have been well below standard for a good while. It's a bit weak to point out one player when the likes of Gerrard and many other players have also been underperforming for too long.
Since McClaren took over, they all look depressed to me. Having Becks back will raise everyone's spirits I think. You only have to read the comments made by some England players about Becks returning to see how much it means to them.

I know the english have pride but there are seldom any good english coaches. Seriously, once Steve is exposed England need to nationaly pray for someone more tactically suited.
