watched a ****in 1:30am showing last night. as good as it gets, worth all the hype for sure. Ledger and Eckhart stole the show, Bale was pretty bland and got totally outshined but who cares. I dont really like Bale as Batman when he's in the suit, his raspy voice annoys me, sounds way too forced.

I think the voice is ...mechanically enhanced so that people don't have a chance to recognize who batman is by his voice

no, it's just Christian Bale changing his voice, don't think there's any mechanics involved at all.

anywho, watched the movie again tonight, this time a lot of things that were confusing me from the 1st time were a lot clearer, and it makes the movie even better for me.

Just came from the movie, and all I can say is : The Batman franchise is reborn. If you haven't seen it ....just make time and go see it. It's a ******* masterpiece. (Y)

Seen it last night finally to see what the hype was all about. It's awesome as everyone says. It was over two hours long yet I felt like it flew by really quick. Heath Ledger was impressive as the Joker, and I think Christian Bale made a pretty good Batman. Great movie overall, and I'm REALLY not into fiction or superhero movies. That says a lot.

Just got back from this. It was alright I suppose, Ledger was fantastic as I expected but it meant that when he wasn't on screen it was dull; I don't know if it was Christian Bale's performance or not, but I didn't care about Batman, he was boring. And it was far too long!

Saw tonight in IMAX and i gotta disagree with Hakeem. In my opinion this movie is much better. The only flaw i found is that there was a lot of Joker (which is not bad in anyway at all), but there wasn't so much of Batman. They developed him much better in Batman Begins, while this movie was about 3 guys and not so much 1 guy and 2 others. Either way i loved it.

First of all, Joker. Absolutely astounding performance, i have never seen such a great villain. Everything from his makeup to performance was just perfectly executed. The dark humour was great, especially that little intro cameo infront of all the mobs was a superb way to introduce his personality. I can't say much more than what already was said millions of times by millions of people.

Now, Harvey Dent. I thought he was another character that had a great performance, just like Bale, only for Ledger to completely overshadow it with a performance that really puts Nicholson's Joker to shame, really. He became much more interesting when he turned into Two-face. And can i say, the make-up was great. Miles above what Tommy Lee Jones got. Did he really die and was buried down in the ground, or was that a fake and they just buried him as a symbol? It would suck if they kill that character off so fast. I got really into him and he reminded me of Terminator a little bit, which i'm building big interest for.

Now, Batman himself is a whole different story. As i mentioned earlier, the director probably should have developed him a little bit more, but i guess with Joker around the movie was never gonna be a dud anyway. What i actually liked about Batman is something that quite a few people critisized. First of all, his raspy voice did get annoying at times, but after a bit i didn't mind it at all. And let's be serious if you heard somebody's voice million times, would you not recognize them in the dark without seeing their face? Seriously. Second, his ruthless nature was very well done. Its not something we are used to and that's why i liked it. It stepped out of our usual comfort zone where every single superhero is this strong, nice guy with high morals and tries to please everybody, even a bad guy at times. And with Spiderman it was done really well, but with Batman he was never meant to be the guy that everybody cheers for and loves, unlike Spidey. People loved him in the first 4 Batman movies, but i don't think he was that beloved by Gotham citizens in comics and now that i think about it, neither was he in the cartoon network series. Infact, i actually wonna go back on the statement i made earlier before seeing this movie that cartoon network Batman was not ruthless. Because its a cartoon and it was made at the time when violence was almost non-existant in cartoons and still it was quite violent actually. It's just not that scary watching a cartoon compared to a film. But i can remember better now that the Batman from Dark Knight actually resembles Batman from the Animated series more than any of the other 5 movies, maybe excluding the playboy lifestyle, i can't quite recall that part. Point is, its very nice to have this kind of anti-superhero sort of for a change. But really he isn't bad, he just does things much more recklessly than the superhero's we usually see in movies. Batman has a goal and he tries to achieve that best way possible and if somebody has to undeservably suffer than so be it.

Anyway, that's enough for now from me, don't know how many of you will even bother reading this.

PS. what's with the random Richard Dowe appearances all throughout the movie? They were kind of useless really and i guess the only explanation is that they are trying to keep him fresh in people's minds for further involvement in future movies.

So i guess i am the only one that thinks this movie (Minus The Joker)was pretty much hyped for no obvious reason?

IronMan was much, MUCH better.

Apparently Aaron Eckhart agreed to be back for the third Batman movie!

I kind of got the idea that he died too and was saying that it sucked cause the character was great, and weird that they would get him for just one movie. so maybe he isn't really dead? (:/)

I think the movie should be named "Joker Begins" than "Batman : The Dark Knight", cos' clearly Heath stole the show. I don't know 'bout you guys, but it seems with his death in real life it kinda affected me to go with the antagonist side. Heath put his best performance ever in his final finished movie, he is definitely an actor whose name will be remembered for a very, very long time... Legend man, legend....

meh, thats all bull imho. Just because some dude's dead he becomes legend. Riiight. Maybe I should become a drug addict and die from overdose, oh sorry, I meant "accidental" overdose. I do find him good in this movie tho, but his character is just a tad bit over..-acted. Plus them 2 new bat-movies come nowhere near close to the greatness of the original films, and even though his whole "dark" feeling doesn't serve the purpose of the films comic-based nature but the intention is obviously to make it more visually impressive and appealing(since they took a more... "realism" approach) I do find the film very entertaining and overall well acted and directed. Certainly no masterpiece and doesn't set new standards for the genre like the original films did. 6.5/10 (well... maybe a 7, but i dont wanna be too generous)
