Hi everyone,

It's been some time now that I play FIFA and I always enjoyed checking the Mods and all.
FIFA 14 is pretty much a joke to me as I mostly play Virtual Pro in a top Team and we experience so much crap with this game.

As a consequence I started to play Career again, desperate move, and the joke is even worse...
That's why I jumped on forums and all to try to create a cl.ini file that could fit my taste.
So the credit surely comes to Fidel and some others who tried to digg into the core files and provided great info!

I'm still making changes every week, trying to understand certain codes and their impact on the game.

But I felt this was a better way to participate to the community rather than just complain and expect things done by others to help.

Here is what I'm expecting to achieve:
- A very aggressive defense /Improving
- A strict referee with relevant card decision /Done
- No AI cheat (won't get sudden boost when leaded etc...) /Done
- Home/Away does not have influence on player's stats /Done
- Players attributes are never boosted, no crazy shot taking or aiming /Done
- Long call efficiency /Done
- Less accurate clearance /Improving
- More desperate tackles /Improving
- Hands are activated (not while tackling) /Done
- Some more details to add later on...

I'm playing in Legend with simple sliders:
- pass speed to 45
- Marking to 85

I hope this will help some people and that our discussions will provide me new insight in order to make the file better.

I like that the first touch is more realistic, but don't you feel that overall player movement is somewhat clunky? As if all the players were big fat men who can barely turn themselves around. Of course, it could only be my first impression as I just started using your cl.ini. (I was using fifaCCitiu.com's, paulv2k4's and Fidel's gameplays before)

i played too with those files and my conclusion is the gameplay is overall better just with one of fifaccitiu or paulv2k4 gameattrib files without cl.ini.

Sorry for my ignorance, but what exactly are these gameattrib files doing? I don't remember having seen them in the past, but this year they seem to be in most gameplay patches. (sorry for hijacking a thread)

It's slightly better, but players are still quite lethargic. And as regularcat pointed out in another thread, there still aren't enough fouls. I'm playing World Class with 8 minute halves and had 0 fouls in the last game.

I'm not going into the fouls thing as I'm creating my own, making the good trick at the right time.
But forget all this, I won't have the time to discover each peace of code by myself..

could you just copy&paste content of .ini file in the thread post? I think this would be more helpful.
I agree, in general there is too little fauls happening in the game and even when I set up the in the game setting of 1vs1 shadowing up to 95%, players are left a lot of free space to act.

The trickiest parts of these mods and ZiP, I fully appreciate all the work you have put in to them, i want to be sure you know this. Anyways, Fidel's and both ZiP's files have that clunky feel, i believe it is the cl.ini that might be causing the hiccups or something within them. I must admit i do like the more free flowing feel of the original AI, but even at legendary it takes them forever to shoot at the goal at times, and its a bit too fast for me, hard to not get stressed. If i could turn off cheating of the AI, have a bit more fouls called, less perfect tackles by the PC and have them shoot at goal a bit more, it would be the perfect mod for me.

Thanks for sharing your gameplay! I merged it with Fidel's and tweaked some myself. Quite enjoy it now. My players tackling is quite better now too. Before I just can't tackle without fouls while the CPU's always perfect. :rolleyes: The first touch is a bit frustrating sometimes but that happens even in real life. As for clunky players... try tweaking the sliders... I use Speed 1 and Acceleration 47. :)

This was shared in Fidel's thread and I preferred the sliders than the ones Fidel posted.

That's exactly what I had in mind...
I easily removed the AI cheating part, but the core thing is less perfect tackles in all your mind.
And when you reduce the ability ratio that impacts the skill itself, it creates bad thing. That's why I don't see a solution apart from modifying the stats and DB but I don't want to do that because I still need to get use to the original fifa feel due to my Competitive Online Club activity...

Anyway, I'd have tried.

Here are interesting things I can share if ever someone wants to work on it:

Remove AI CHEAT
OVERALL_RATING_DIFF_MIN_VAL = 0
OVERALL_RATING_DIFF_MAX_VAL = 0
OVERALL_RATING_DIFF_MIN_MOD = 0
OVERALL_RATING_DIFF_MAX_MOD = 0
USE_HOME_AND_AWAY_EFFECT_FOR_PLAYER_ATTRIBUTES = 0 (not mandatory but I like it to be removed as well)

Make a relevant referee
REFEREE_FOUL_STRICTNESS_OVERRIDE = 1.0 (1 is the max)
REFEREE_CARD_STRICTNESS_OVERRIDE = 0.2 (good low middle ground)

Tackles
STANDING_TACKLE = the more you have the more AI makes standing tackles
SLIDING_TACKLE = the more you have the more AI makes sliding tackles
MAX_REASON_FOR_SLIDE_TACKLE = could not find where to go with this, I even tried negative values (imo the less you have the more it tackles)
MAX_REASON_FOR_STAND_TACKLE = same
PLAYER_ATTRIBUTE_SLIDINGTACKLE = this is a ratio that you mutiplies with the player attrib, so making it less than 1 reduces the capacity of making good tackle
PLAYER_ATTRIBUTE_STANDINGTACKLE = Same

RULES_PUSHPULL_MIN_COE_STRICTNESS = tried so extreme different things, not very clear to me...
RULES_PUSHPULL_MAX_COE_STRICTNESS = Same

There are more but it does not refer to AI making more fouls.

I'll repeat myself but I generally create fouls by using proper skills to make the defender mad. I at least made all my FKs this way. But you'll be happy to know that even with all FK, Long Shots, Spin achievements done in addition to the Special trait "FK specialist", I'm still not the one taking FK on my team... Silly FIFA.

@Zipouet You play Player career mode right? Is it the Virtual Pro one or a Real Player? I've played VP and I thought I'd give Real Player a try but my player doesn't seem to be improving even if he is young and has potential (I use Volland). I played all games until December then simmed to the end of the first season to see if there will beany changes in my OVR but none... Was wondering what the normal growth using a real player. Thanks for the help! :-)

these are nowhere to be found in the exe and from testing do absolutely nothing.

Having the list of codes available in the FIFA 14 would be helpful. Base everything from the 13 does not help for sure.

Could you help?
Working collaboratively might be a good way to advance quicker and further.

Hi Zipouet,

Been testing your cl.ini file and found that the gameplay is very good but
seems to suffer from the same problems as Fidel's.

a.) Players still run past the ball.
b.) Get stuck over the ball
c.) Pass back to goal keeper and he steps straight over it for an own Goal !
This only happens now and again (seen it twice so far once from me and once from CPU)

Only have MW 1.5.1 patched and play with Matrix 4.0 normally any ideas?

Your gameplay is very nice, but i feel its a bit to, dont know how to put it. To much automatic stuff in some kind of way. Fidel's feel more open and free.

But your gameplay is still very good. Im gonna continue playing with it, since ive started a new season with Chelsea. I think with people helping you make this, it can be very good.

I have tested this With HG 2.0 and MW Mod 1.51 Matrix 4.0 + the original Fifa 14 cl.ini file and the passing bug is no longer in the game

Therefore the passing bug has to be in the the new cl.ini file's

Have had passing bug with Fidel's,Waldo & Zipouet cl.ini files!!
They all have slightly different gameplay but all have the passing bug of some kind.

Are we anyway closer to finding out which lines of code added or changed from the original Fifa 14 cl.ini is the problem?

Welcome to the wonderful world of attempting to get blood out of a stone as to fixing FIFA.

Like everyone has said, we should be concentrating on modding the gameplayattribdb files as they hold the key to properly fixing the game.

There are a few things you can do with the INI but don't expect miracles.

Just like Fidel and AP21 you have fallen into the trap of putting ridiculous numbers into some values. Its a fact, theres a limit to integer/double/float values. If you don't see any difference at 1, you wont see anything at 10000000000000000000000.

The USE_STEP_LOCO stuff causes all sorts of problems with players movement and ability to pick up passes.

STAND_TACKLE_IS_BALL_FAR_AWAY, MAX_REASON.. and the rest don't work and I have no idea why others persist with it.

RULES_PUSHPULL_MIN_COE_STRICTNESS etc. does nothing.

Lower case settings tend to not work.
