Stating your belief is fine, but you open yourself yp to be criticsed for those beliefs. If you say something homophobic.you will be called a homophobe (and would likely be a homophobe). You don't have to be PC, but if what you say is homophobic then it will be deemed as such. You can say 'gays sometimes have anal sex' and that wouldn't be homophobic. Saying 'you're a fag' is, though.

Being politically correct is the way you act, it does not always correlate with having prejudiced beliefs. The issue is fixing prejudices beliefs. That's much more.important than being PC.

This is just stupid, all this labelling people etc. I'm no fucking racist so i don't know any terms, except, calling people faggots or maricon is just part of my repertuare, i don't even mean to insult people like that. I'm mostly joking and all my friends know that. And have no problem with it. I never mean it seriously and some people understand it and some don't, too bad.

If only you understood the can of worms you just popped open.

I dont understand the word "homophobic" it implies they are afraid of it - you don't have to be afraid of something to dislike it

Yeah, I think the meaning of homophobia has evolved as years have gone on.

But I think that fearing the idea (ie. Not fearing gay people, but fearing their impact on society) is fairly close to the same as disliking it.

i can't understand why the label "homophobic" gets thrown out and around every time somebody says he/she is a faggot or someone says i can't stand the thought of homosexuality.

i don't particularly care for gay anything, i think it is disgusting and try to stay away from the debate because i start to cringe just thinking about it.

when a queer calls me straight should i call him a "heterophobic" ?

to each his own and by no means should my thoughts on the subject sway anyone from being gay, hey if you're queer you shouldn't feel the need to hide it, gtfo the closet.

as long as the fanny bandits do their whatever it is they do far away from me and my range of vision i can live with it.

Maybe because that's EXACTLY what homophobia is? Gay people don't call people straight as an insult. I can't stand the thought of BEING homosexual, but the thought of homosexuals themself doesn't worry me. Each to their own. I've seen gay friends of mine kiss each other at bars etc loads. It's two people who love each other kissing - who cares?

No, but he doesn't say straight as an insult. If you say fag, queer etc, I imagine you're generally using it as an insult. If I call my gay friends gay, they're not insulted at all, and that's NOT homophobic. If I call a friend gay or a fag, who isn't, I'm assuming the term is negative. That's homophobic. You're putting negative connotation on the idea of being homosexual.

Why do they need to do it away from you? Do they ask you to be straight away from them? THAT is homophobic. You're differentiating it, expecting them to be treated differently because they're gay.

Even the fact you call them fanny bandits (which is ironic in itself, as outside of north America fanny means vagina) shows your disapproval, and your homophobia.

i am not afraid of them and i do disapprove of the concept not of them as people, i never cared for public displays of affection between any form of sexuality, but because i find gay to be disgusting to begin with the sight of gay displays of affection makes my stomach turn.

as negative as it may sound, it is what it is and they can take it how they want to.

you may not mind seeing 2 men with their tongues down each others throats but i certainly mind, as we both said to each his own.

Honestly, I dont like this. I dont like watching heterosexuals kiss either, but homosexual men is far, far worse. Lesbians, however, can have at it!

I wouldn't feel comfortable watching men kiss in public, but watching women kiss in public would be more like watching the space shuttle take off for the first time. I know its a double standard but I'm just being honest.

It's funny though. You don't see that kind of stuff in bars/pubs/clubs very often. But once i drunkedly saw it, i always say that take your "business"
elsewhere. Idiots, you don't wanna hear what i had to say about those people later on.

I also feel uncomfortable seeing heterosexual couple show too much affection in public. It's the same to me. My point is that I'm no more concerned about gay guys than any others doing it.

And this is why you're homophobic. Homophobia isn't necessarily being scared of gay people, it's being afraid of the idea.

You're homophobic, it's as simple as that. That is fine, you can have your opinions, as you said. But you need to realise that this makes you a homophobe.
