Actually, we were doing fine up until late January. United were 4 points clear at the top of the league, and we also had the best defensive record in the country.

But as soon as Ferdinand came off during the Wolves game, our defence fell apart and his suspension began. United had no choice but to throw a rusty Wes Brown straight into the first team without having enough reserve games under his belt, which lead too disaster.

I think we paid a price for not having enough defensive cover, and I think we could've got Southgate in the January transfer window.

With the extra defender we have in Gabriel Heinze, and Ferdinand coming back in September(although I'd rather Ferguson have him play a few reserve games once his suspension is lifted), things can only get better for United.

Of course they're not as good as Premierleague .. that's why they're not in there.

Ummmmm, I don't think he was talking about the standard of the teams in the lower divisions, he was saying how he hates the new name for Division 1 "The Championship", and the new sponsor "Coca Cola".
