We were 2-0 up against Iran and then they came back to draw 2-2 and went through on away goals...i accept this defeat by im saying that we are getting closer all the time!

Uhmm... guys I think you should stop that dumb conflict about who's league is better. I mean, Greece and Turkey are trying to be friends now so don't initiate such stupid fights. As for Manny well maybe greek teams haven't won anything in Europe but most times they have mre decent perfomances that turkish teams.

Kewell, SHankan just stated his opinion -- Australia does not have a good national team. With that he meant only that Turkish team is better. For Australia it is 100 times easier to qualify to the World Cup than for any European Country. All you have to do is to beat the crap out of teams like Solomons Islands, ot Kiribati, or Vanuatu, and to win to New Zealnd. That is easy. Playing some Asian country in the knock-out stage is tougher, and Australi usually has the same chances to qualify as that left-over Asian or South American team (last time it was Iran, in 94 they were unlucky -- Argentina).

For Turkey it is much much harder to qualify to the world cup. The same for teams like Russia, Greece, and others that weren't there. The fact that Australia barely missed the World Cup does not say anything -- the same did Russia with Turkey. But, as I believe, Russia or Turkey or any other team WOULD qualify to te World Cup 98 if there would be teams like New Zealand, Vanuatu on the way, instead of Israel or Bulgaria, and Iran in the final, insteadof Italy (that's how Russia disqualified from the World Cup).

i'm glad i make you laugh kewell. the reason i said whatever is because i didn't want to argue with you anymore about a topic you're completely biased and blinded by. anyway, russian rocket said it, you play teams like new zealand and fiji, ooooooooohhhh!!!! if you can step over here in europe and prove something then i'll give you some respect, but as of now, i'm sorry. and as for that races thing on the national team, i'm afraid you misunderstood me. i think most countries in the world have mixed races. but i know for a fact that the majority of the australian population is descended from western europeans. yet you have a team that's almost completely made up of eastern european descendants. and i just want to say that i don't want to debate that anymore.

chris16, i don't who you are, but we had this thing before, if you're not aware. i argued a lot with greekfanatik and kostas and then after a long time, we just kind of made up and now we're friends. but then you come along and rag off on turkish teams, so that's why this started again. i just want to say that there was no need for you to do it, and hopefully you've learned your lesson, and not start a fight everytime turkish football is discussed, by that i mean, not coming and saying that greek football is so much better, etc., if you think so, fine, but you don't need to bring it up. and anyway, who said i freak out? do my messages sound like i'm angry? well, i'm sorry you're so damn sensitive, but i'm responding in a normal tone like everyone else.

trickster, that was some years ago. when i said that, i meant right now at the moment. what i mean is like i said, if on the forum people are talking about turkish football, there is no need to bring up greek football just because you want to establish your position or whatever you want to do.
