There was a similar challenge in the Malaga-Porto with Carlos*son and Iturra involved, it end up with a yellow for the Colombian.

So the conclusion is that Nani was wrongfully dismissed

It's football, live with it. As if United have never benefited from refereeing mistakes. Plus Nani's red card wasn't scandalous.

Right hand side of the picture: "clear contact with studs".

Bro, it's not the same. "clear contact" does not mean "brushed him with the cleats and tried to avoid contact". You're acting like Lt. Calley at the end of A Few Good Men when you're just being a fanboy idiot.

So because he "lightly" tapped him with his cleats its ok? Vieira and Ronaldo have been sent off for high foot with no contact. From the video Nani tried to pull his foot away in the last second too, when he say Arbeloa. This challenge is almost identical.

Normally you would have a good argument, but when most of the world doesn't think it was a red, and an identical challenge from your team isn't, then you can't seriously say that Nani 's was and Martinez' wasn't

guys.. I don't want to be offending anyone, especially with Help in it, but I'm really fed up with this nani red card arguing..

and I don't get the idea of discussing the red card with javi martinez's tackle.. bayern arsenal match was not refereed by cuneyt cakir.. even the same referee would make different decisions at similar circumstances happened at the same match..

manu were eliminated.. just live up to it.. arguing over a single red card would end up with nothing..

Ok, i'm done with it.

But Shifty, you can't call nady an idiot fanboy when his opinion is actually the popular one. I do think that you really believe what you say, but in each case you see what you want to see and end up with an inconsistent conclusion.

His opinion about Javi Martinez's challenge is the popular one? Because I only see it on Man U fan boy twitter and Nady right here. It's not the same. A straight on stomp in the ribs is totally different from a thigh brushing trying to avoid contact. At the very least, there is a clear difference in intent (Nani intends to go for the ball and Arbeloa be damned, Martinez intends to avoid contact).

I never said Martinez deserved a red card. My point was that if going by the logic of some people here (which is why I quoted Mandieta6), then Martinez should have had a red as well.

I think both challenges are yellow.
