Alright, I know we dont really care about it and it's rarely a litmus test of league or continental form, but after such a long club football hiatus and with the promise of a new EPL season just down the road, it still gets the juices flowing.

I havent read any build up so I dont know which, if any, of the Chelsea new boys are going to start. I do know our pre-season form has been woeful, so hoping the boys will get it together. A win would be a good statement of intent, we are gonna need to be more than just "improved" if we are to wrestle the title away from City this season.

City, with no new signings to bed in, have got to be favourites, but we could also see a touch of magic from us. They will want it though, they are new enough to trophy winning that the novelty of playing in this match wont have worn off yet!

So yeah, bring on the Community Shield and bring on another glorious EPL season!!!

Seems way early, but then again I'm currently watching NFL preseason. So maybe I'm just not feeling the hiatus due to the olympics.

What the **** is going on here?

Savic should be off the pitch!

Ivanovic should not be!

Referees hate us :(

Maybe in your faggotty league but you see ten of them a game in the EPL.

Two foot studs up leaving the ground? Hmm..

At least whatever happens every fair minded person knows that Chelsea would definitely be the winners here if both teams had eleven men....

Referee is going nuts, another pointless yellow for Lampard. Has Ferguson bribed him to send off every rival player before the season start?

If he gets the ball i don't really care if he goes in with a machete. To me there's a difference between intent to deliver a bone crushing tackle to get the ball and intent to make contract in a dangerous way without regard for where the ball is.

Anyway, Chelsea are "typical" **** just like all last spring. City look even worse. Yuck. Savic should definitely be off though.

"Using excessive force" means that the player has far exceeded the necessary use of force and is in danger of injuring his opponent:
- a player who uses excessive force shall be sent off

Using the soles of two feet is pretty excessive..

Yay, Torres, other than that I started watching the last 15 minutes on a blurry stream, I can't even tell Hazard and Mata apart.

Why does everyone keep complaining about us playing this way? I love it, it's effective and every bit as attractive to watch (gritty, tactical, determined) as boring, soulless, unending tika taka tika taka tika taka **** OFF.

We're completely different from last year, it's high-press.

EDIT: No, it's not. It looked like it earlier though. Then again, we are down to 10 men.
