35 Years Later - Still A Legend

Funky--K

Starting XI

Jimi Hendrix died on the 18th September 1970. 35 years passed and he's still on the hearts on music fans all around the world.

He's one of my great heroes, a big inspiration, both humanly and musically. I thought about posting this on the Guitar Thread, but since not everyone visits it, I thought I should make it available for everyone to pay a tribute, to who I consider the greatest guitar talent ever to grace the earth.

There are different sides of the story about his death. It's known that on the 17h September 1970, days after his last performance at the Ronnie Scott's club in London, he was exausted and took some sleeping pills, at his girlfriend's house. On the early morning of the 18th, his girlfriend noticed he was unconscious and quickly took him to the hospital. Hours later his death was reported. Some say he took them with Carlos Daniels, and the mixture was fatal. Others say he died in the hospital, after the doctors left him alone, and he had convultions, chockin on his own vomit, which has allways been an unfortunate common death within rock stars.

Last night me and my friends reunited at a friend's house, lit up some candles, and listened to Jimi Hendrix all night.

Here's BBC's report on that day:

Don't quote me on this, but I thought you said he was overrated and that you didn't rate his guitaring skills? Or something to that effect.

The greateast Guitarist of all time, and to think he was only really big for 3 years and only released 3 albums. Imagine if he hadn't decided to take those sleeping pills that night...what else would he have gone on to do? What unwritten songs have we all missed out on? :(

How big is YOUR penis?
Hendrix, Morrison, Lennon, Mercury, Cobain etc. Ah, the old days got some very talented musicians who died too young too soon. Now you got Idol shows and self proclaimed punk bands like Good Charlotte :(

Which I hope you bought legally. :jambo:

Actually, retaillers seem intent on charging £10-15 for a Hendrix album. Much like the extortionate prices on some Pink Floyd albums. Twunts.
