360 vs. PS3 vs. Wii

First, I'll say that the Wii has to be put in a seperate category. Kudos to the new controller. It is truly revolutionary. The Wii has its crowd and will do well. Nice Showing Wii but obviously you're in a different league.

Now on to 360 vs. PS3. I'll make a long story short and write this in summary:

Blu-Ray = Betamax. HDVD = vhs. Remeber that battle Sony lost in the 80's(Betamax)? VHS won. Beta went extinct shortly after it came out. Right now, HDVD movies outnumber Bluray 11-1. And that's a fact. Sony will lose this war as well. The only reason the PS3 has blu ray is to push it for the consumer, movie market. That's why PS3 came out so late. Not to mention, problems with the laser reading discs correctly, etc. Plus, problems scaling down or up on non 720p tv sets, backward compatability with PS2, 1... Oh, not to mention that developers will not fully utilize full storage capacity of blu ray disc. Developers don't even max out regular disc space. It would require more expenses and man power for the developers. Simply not worth it. Sony is selling a partial illusion with the PS3.

Not to mention Xbox live will dominate online and We have Gears of War that looks better than anything Sony has or will have for some time, not to mention, "Alan Wake will come out in January and revolutionize videogames 4ever, and Splinter Cells are going to be 360 exclusive, and GTA will debut on 360....what else hmmm? Oh, $200 cheaper. (H)

The dealer I bought my PC from said microsoft will be releasing a Blu-ray extension for its console...

Regardless, I guess the PS3 is a much more powerful and capable machine. It's now up to game developers which console will be a better deal.

I think the 360 and PS3 will be close to the same graphically when its all said and done, although I hope PS3 is better because thats the console I'm getting, but the PS3 is more of a total entertainment center with a Blu-ray player, web browser, etc. The Wii would be awesome if I was younger because the new controller would be fun at a younger age IMO. The PS3 is the best IMO with the 360 almost its equal.

Specs wise, the 360 is better in pretty much every catagory. It's cheaper, probably better online, great games. Why bother with the PS3?

Some people talk about the PS3 as if it's 2 or 3 times more powerful than the 360, but unfortunately guys, you're in for a HUGE disappointment. Sony overhyped the product beyond belief. :ewan:

360 still looks primitive.. and doesn't have that next-gen look.. while PS3 is a must have in your living room next to the HDTV :)

Once the PS3 is out, the 360 will have graphics that will be exactly the same. It does have a better graphics chip you know. games that are multi-platform will look identical. I don't understand why PS3 fanboys still think that the graphics will be far superior. :rolleyes: . . . Because they won't.

the xbox gpu is like.. the step b4 the new gpu's from ati that will soon hit the market, while the ps one is based on nvidias previous chip.



Btw this console fanboy fight is realy exciting... keep it up boys :mrpimp:

My post was aimed at the 360 not the Wii. I think the Wii is really cool and I'm thinking seriously about buying one to fulfill my gaming needs until the PS3s price gets cut in half (which should be by this time next year anyway)

I actually like the 360 controller. Not too big like the one for the previous Xbox.
Also Sony must quite like it too, seeing as they did take some elements from it. :funny:

I'm not talking about "elements" I'm just refering to the shape and how comfortable it is in your hands after playing for a few hours. When it comes to that the PS controller tops all others my miles in my opinion.

No one has argued my facts I've posted above, especially the blu ray losing out to hdvd. Fact is most people are not happy with sony and admit they overhyped their system. Gamewise, future is looking bright for 360.
