The PCU scores regularly from 45 meters distance perfectly in the upper corners even if the PCU team is Uganda.

It seems that the higher the difficulty level the less it happens. There should be patch for this somewhere.

When I play (world class) against Real Madrid, I loose 9-2 with 6 or 7 long shots !!!!

this game is total crap...this long shots thing is horrible...the pc scores with them every game...why the hell does my goalkeeper stands 6 or 7 yards away from his posts when the ball is in the middle of the field???...as always EA flops again...and this time they did it bigtime...they should really release a patch to fix this thing otherwise the game won`t make sense at all.

And why didn`t they include the CAF in the world cup qualifications??...and where is the dutch league??....this is the worst fifa game i`ve ever seen (and believe me because i`ve seen them all).

the AI scores from 45yds because there is a bug that allows high powered shots to be scored from just over the 1/2 way line.

.....so could you please explain me how do you do that? by which shot power and so on?

Take a look around and you'll see there already IS A GAMEPLAY PATCH! And don't come whining here how you get so many goals, in fifa01 i won on world class 10:0, with 6 mins one half time. if i played 90 mins it was like 43:7. Learn to play fifa02 and then you'll find out its not all bad.

I've already downloaded the gameplay patch but the CPU continues to score from the long distance, so I want to play with the same tricks used by the CPU.

Anyhow, I haven't asked your opinion...

I've played over 50 games of Fifa2002 so far, and the computer has only scored about 5 goals from that distance. All you have to do to stop them, is close them down in midfield.

Then its not the right patch . The way you score from a long distance:
-in the options menu adjust the power meter speed-up so that it powers up slower. this gives you more accurate speed shots.
The shot:
-the power meter should be just before the point it is max.
-when you shoot curve the ball

I haven't made any goals from 45m, but i havent tried. i just shoot from 20m or so and if im luck i get a spectacular goal.

I have downloaded the patch "fullversion gameplay patch 1.0" in the patch area of this site. Which one do you mean?

To curve the ball I have to hold down the curve button while the shot powers up right? I use the keyboard but it doesn't seem to function....

if u use a joypad aim for either top corner, max out shot power to just before red line and swerve it:-

i've read every post about how FIFA2002 sucks. i agree with the small amount of people who have been saying that you need to play it more and get use to the game first. it plays totally differently (thankfully) than the previous titles. i've played well over 200 matches (3 full seasons plus qualifying with all the regions and then some). it takes time to get use to the game. play a ton of matches on amateur so you can win 10-0 everytime then do the same for professional and you'll be satisfied

Sometimes those long shots look like they go through the goaltender like he is a ghost or something.
