That is why Turkish league is 7th in the world -- 3 good teams (Gala, Fenebahce, Besiktas) and the rest of league is below a certain level. But Besiktas had 30 million dollars on transfers last season, Gala had almost the same, and these teams, in money, are not different from Manu, or Liverpool. Well, maybe they got money by selling a few players to Western European clubs, but anyways, that is a huge step for a league that was ranked 18th last season, being below Switzerland and Ukraine.

I think Jardel's record at Porto and his start at Galatasaray are impressive. His goals are not in the Serie A, or the Premier League, but so what!!! Both Portugal and Turkey have credible and competitive leagues, although not on a level with Italy or England. In my opinion, Jardel deserves a good look on the national team. I'm not real sure how much he has actually palyed, but Brasil owes it to itself to see if he is the real thing... and they wont know that without a few games in a legitimate Brasilian formation.

Daniel:

Dude, Romario was '90-'94 R9 was '97 -'98. It's now 2000! That was then....this is now!

Chris 16:

Don't listen to these guys...you have a right to post on whatever you want (even if you do not know what your'e talking about ... I do it all the time
)

And... for once, I agree with a_shearer...when all is said and done, Brasilians are just like everybody else.

Ok guys.Jardel is a good player. So what. There are many players from Brazil that play better than him and they don't play at their national team. For example:Giovvani. He plays at Olympiakos-Greece.Although he is not
a striker he played that role extremely well.I want to inform you that this guy is perfection itself. He scored many times and when he played in his position he was great, too. So I think that Giovvani deserves to play for Brazil, too.

russian rocket, there are actually four big teams in turkey. they're known as the big four, not 3. trabzonspor is the other team. and it's not just them that's good. there're other good teams as well, but the problem is that whenever they have a good player he's snatched up by a big club. i guess it's the same in other leagues. i mean, in italy, there's roma, fiorentina, lazio, inter, milan, and juventus. in england there's manu, chelsea, arsenal, and liverpool. in spain there's barca and madrid. you know what i'm saying, every league has their elite teams. but the other teams in turkey could compete with other teams in other leagues that aren't considered elite just as well as anyone.

but anyway, hey you, besiktas guy, why are you trying to cause a conflict here? maybe you should try siding with the other people who support the turkish league instead of going against them because in the world, there're not many. i don't like besiktas or fenerbahce or trabzonspor when it comes to the turkish league but i always want them to do well in europe. you should ashamed of your attitude, after all, if galatasaray does well, it also helps besiktas and turkish football in general. and don't go around boasting about nouma, i agree he's good, but let results speak for themselves. if other people talk about him, then ok, but right now we're talking about jardel.

yeah, but Trabzonspor is not famous in Europe, like Fenebahce, Besiktas and Gala are.

In Russia there is Spartak and Loko, but these teams do not pick players from lower russian clubs much, so it looks balanced in Russia. Anzhi, Torpedo, Dinamo and CSKA are below the level of Loko and Spartak (or Gala, Fenebahce, Besiktas), but higher on the level than other Turkish teams (maybe even better than Trabzonspor).

Gala is the team that highered Turkish League rankings (of course -- UEFA Cup and Super Cup), and Turkey's nat. performance lately made European grand clubs to buy Turkish players from Turkey for big big big money.

Russia's got financial crisis for the past decade and that is why nobody was ever bought for the price higher than 1 million dollars.

Jardel may only have played in Turkey and Porto....BUT he has played in Champions league against the very best of players. He has scored against some of the best clubs in the world and is truly going to make himself a world class striker.

I cant believe big clubs like Madrid, Juventus etc that have trouble scoring goals havent went after him. He sure as hell finds the back of the net easier than guys like Anelka, Del Piero, Sukur.

Junhinio ,Juventus did buy a striker and its David Trezeguet .I dont see why they would buy Jardel .In my mind Trezeguet is more superior to Jardel and he proved it in Euro2000 and in yesterdays game when they beat Milan .Infact ,Trezeguet score in 8 consecutive games whether it was with France or Juventus .

What has he proven. Jardel has led FC Porto to Champions league now they are out. He is the reason they did so well. He scores every where and Juventus will still win all their games 1 - 0 on Del Piero penalties. Unless they get a pure goal man like Jardel or Batistuta Inzaghi, Del Piero will do nothing.

and you want to know why i don't know anything about the australian league or anything australian? cuz i know they suck, and i only follow leagues that are worthy of following.

hey, i don't suppose you know much about the thai league, or the ecuadorean league, eh? well, guess what? neither do i!!

Junhinio,I just said Juve had signed Trezeguet ,so why should they get Jardel .Secondly ,Agnelli said that if he doesnt perform ,expect him to be gone .The critics are so severe on him that on Rai ,a guy predicted that del piero would be gone in less than 6 months .If Del Piero heard that ,he better perform or he will be out of work .

Jardel is a great player and I agree that he should be a starter at Brazil, but all of you are forgetting or don't know something important. Jardel has stated that he doesn't want to play for Selecao as long as Luxemburgo is their coach. So the only solution for Brazil's attack is Giovanni who kicks ass with Olympiakos and has scored 10 goals in the last 5 matches. Ze Elias and Luciano should also be in Luxemburgo's list for the national team. I think that Luxemburgo is dumb because he only calls the very famous players who play in europe like Rivaldo, Cafu, etc. or young players that play in Brazil and they may develop to great players in the future.

Chris you say that turks are one sided...what about yourself. You say that the turkish league sucks and that the greek league is the best. Actually you only talk about the greek league.
I haven't said that the greek league is bad because I don't know the it very well, and since you don't know the Turkish league very well either, you shouldn't write about that.
Chris you say that the greek league is so good, but when did your teams actually win something in Europe?

chris16, i'll not be tempted to respond to your immature message in the same level as you. i'm more mature than that. all i have to say is let the results speak for themselves. i'll not take any more of your greek jealousy. if people choose to talk about the turkish league instead of the greek league, it must mean something. so don't boast about greek teams when nobody is talking about them.

kewell, i say the same thing to you. let the results speak for themselves. you think that even if your best players stayed in australia it would be good. well i'm sorry, but i won't consider them good until i see them in the world cup and actually do something.

that's all i gotta say. btw, losers are kool. winners suck.

Manny.I have to remind you that Panathinaikos
in 1996 played in semi-finals against Ajax.
And they managed to beat them in Holland 0-1.
On the other hand,Olympiakos played in quarter final in 1998.And If Juve didn't score a few minutes before the game ends they could easily reach semi-finals.So.I don't think that nobody is talking about greek teams. This one goes to GSHAKAN.
