A European Court Greenlights Turkish Sportspeople's EU Status

MADRID - A European court has ruled to determine "the European Union status" of Turkish and other international sportspeople practicing in EU countries, a Spanish sportive lawyer said on Saturday.
The Court of Justice of the European Communities ruled to grant the EU status of sportspeople whose countries had a partnership agreement with the European Economic Union (EEC), lawyer Juan de Dios Crespo Perez said in a written statement.

Turkish striker Nihat Kahveci, who has been playing with the EU status in Spain`s Villareal, will have the same status in all EU countries..

I think this should cut both ways to be honest. EU players should not be considered as foreign players in the Turkish Super Lig. If Turkey wants their players to be considered as EU in the EU they must do the same!
