That's where he's a natural. He does it in real life too.

I know, but I would figure he would be better equipped to play as an inside forward from there or something...

He did play some games as an inside forward, but I prefer the spacing with him and Clemens both as a winger. A huge percentage of assists come from the flanks. Draxler also scored 10+ goals in Bundesliga last season, so he still gets his opportunities in front of goal.

I'm also not a fan of Fuchs and Jung on the flanks offensively, so I prefer they leave it to Draxler and Clemens. May consider changing the tactic with world class full/wing backs.

My shameful team tried really hard to give the title away, but failed in the end because HSV drew their last game. Boo f*cking hoo. Bernd Leno is the worst goalkeeper of all time, the 1-6 loss to Hertha was mainly down to his horrific display that day. My gut feeling is that I want to sell the entire team despite winning my second consecutive title.

During this run I lost in Semi-Finals of the DFB-Pokal vs. Augsburg (0-3) and lost in the 1/8 Finals of the CL to Shakhtar (3-4 agg.).

Just get a few great starting players, to replace your weaker starters and you should be good. If your players were newcommers last years they should be more settled in also.

Luckily Schalke are in a position to do just that. I forgot to mention Juve activated Papadopoulous' release clause in the winter transfer window. I signed Balanta and Ginter to replace him. The defense never quite looked the same, both replacements seemed shaky and Balanta had trouble adapting. That will all naturally get better with time.

Balanta is pretty good, but just be on the lookout for regens at River and Boca. I've been amazed at the quality of Argentines the computer is generating.

Yeah, I noticed that. Most seem to be heading to the top clubs within months upon generating, I have to be really sharp.

My first choice for midfield reinforcements were Strootman and De Bruyne, but Strootman chose Chelsea and De Bruyne chose Real Madrid. I was pretty bummed out about that. I signed Lars Bender, Milan Badelj and Lewis Holtby instead. I think Badelj and Bender will be the MC's behind Sigurdsson at AM. I sold Boateng.

After making these signings I still had 80 million in transfer budget left, yet I had trouble finding players that could significantly strengthen the starting XI. I'm fishing in a pond of players right below the elite talent. Quite frustrating, but it's a nice challenge to find and develop the players that can grow to that elite status, also being able to spend a lot on them. I had a similar game several years down the line with Granada, trying to beat Barcelona, Real Madrid and Europe's elite this way.

I decided to go for some depth instead. I signed Ricardo Rodriguez as a LB rival for Fuchs, a potentially really good Austrian CB from Rapid Wien and two Swiss talents from Grasshoppers. Oh well.

I'm having a hell of a time fishing in that pond in my Southampton game. Iker Muniain is consistently the most valuable player I can attract.

Iker Muniain is my FM13 MVP with Granada, love his game.

Winter Break Update

I created some new shirts. They're simple, but I like them. It was difficult finding just the right ''königsblau''. This will do.

Bayern are my b*tches. I won the last match before the winter break against them, expanding my lead. Hoping for a better second half of the season than last year, I won't get away with that this season.

I also did well in the Champions League, finishing first in a tough group. I drew Celtic in the round of 16, hopefully my first shot at the Quarter Finals. I previously lost to Atletico Madrid and Shakhtar in this round.

Meanwhile, my back-up striker Timo Werner is being a little brat and asked to leave for the second time. He also tried to force a move last season, but he changed his mind. I agreed to let him stay because I paid 15M for him and I wouldn't get that for him at that time. He's also very promising. This time Bayer Leverkusen offered the same amount I paid, so he's off.

I'm looking to sign a replacement, and I'm looking at Anderlecht's Alesander Mitrovic first. I also have a couple of very promising strikers in the youth ranks, this being the best one:

Figured I'd move him to the first team for the time being.

Speaking of Mitrovic, Anderlecht should be a very nice game. They have very promising players: Mitrovic, Bruno and Praet (whos already starting for PSG in my game). Belgium also produces very good regens.

Mitrovic looks very good in my game, and considering I've scouted every young striker in the game, that's a pretty nice compliment. I'd actually roll with Seitz as your #2 and see what he can do; no harm in developing a player of that quality.

Seitz is too young to play in the Bundesliga, apparently there's an minimum age limit. He'll sign his first pro contract in February or March, I suppose he'll be eligible to play then. I didn't realize this when I moved him to the first team.

I decided to sign Mitrovic for 13M. I'm not wild about Volland, he's way too inconsistent, so Mitrovic will get his first team opportunities. He's definitely a better rival to Volland than Werner. Seitz will be integrated as a first team member next year.

Well, I did it in my third season. I won my third Bundesliga title in a row and I won the Champions League thanks to a couple of incredible wins at the Veltins-Arena. Che grinta! Manchester United was unimpressive in the final, their team is pretty much the same as their current team IRL without RVP, but with Son-Heung-Min. Volland scored a scorcher in the 17th minute to win us the trophy. Clutch performer. He was pretty mediocre in the Bundesliga, but he had a great CL campaign. He also scored a legendary hattrick at Anfield during the group stages.

Gylfi Sigurdsson became the season's MVP as my Bundesliga and overall top scorer. He was especially dangerous from set pieces. I was surprised by his development, he's a world star now.

The 2015-2016 roster:

(Player values went through the roof only a few days later.)

Draxler was a little disappointing this season, he's only making mild progressions in his performances each season. I wonder whether Max Meyer is the bigger talent, his value is already higher and I haven't even given him real consistent chances yet.

I sold Volland to Chelsea for 40M. His winner vs. Man Utd and his hattrick at Anfield left an impression in England. He only scored 23 (13+10) goals in two Bundesliga seasons in which he played nearly every game. He wasn't entirely my type of striker, I like them more prolific and in my view he didn't add that much during offensive plays. I have several top striker prospects walking around in the youth academy (Seitz being the most exciting), I'll give them a shot to compete with Mitrovic.

I sold Balanta to PSG for 50M. He was very good (not great) in the Bundesliga, but as you can see I went with Ginter in the Champions League final. Balanta was quite mistake prone and Ginter is very strong on the ball and build-up play. I like the Höwedes-Ginter defensive couple better in the end and I made a satisfying profit of 45M on Balanta in only two seasons time, it's all good.

As far as signings go, I bought an underused and unhappy Mario Götze from Bayern. I'm not quite sure yet how I'll use him, as an inside forward or behind the striker (or even as a false nine), it'll be exciting. And The Revierderby just got a little more interesting again. I also signed Ter Stegen because Barcelona had a 13M offer accepted from Gladbach, I couldn't just let him go to Spain for peanuts. I spent 20M+ on Leno and he just won the CL posting a streak of impressive clean sheets, so that's quite a funny situation now… Another signing was Mateo Kovacic from Inter, I tried to sign him in each of the last three summers and now I finally got him. I'm quite excited about Badelj and Goretzka, but Goretzka missed huge chunks of time because of injuries. I lost him out of my sight a bit. We'll see how the midfield works out. I'm just having fun. Schalke is f*cking loaded with cash and talent, everything will work out.

I may leave this save for now, I'm in the mood for a quirky save.

I see that over the years, you have become a Germanophile. Now I understand why are you so interested in the Bundesliga.
