The A-League 2003 v.1 patch has now been released at FIFA CONCACAF

The big wait is over as FIFA CONCACAF finally releases the A-League patch for your FIFA 2003. This 18-team A-League patch will bring all the excitement of the US/Canadian 2nd Division to your soccer gaming experience. Based on kits and rosters from 2002, the first version of this patch has the kits, flags, banners, umbro ball, menu screens and more... and is now all installed/uninstalled at the click of a button with the new FIFA CONCACAF Patcher 2003. This great utility allows you to choose which patch you want installed at any given time. Currently only available for the A-League patch, watch for more and more compliant patches in the coming weeks.

Downloading it right now.. Thanks a lot strobe_z na d fif concacaf. To all u other soccer fans out there download this. it has my home town team the rochester raging rhinos in it.

There is a long delay before the menu selections are accepted and the load time after the lineups screen takes 3x longer than usual or crashes the game altogether.

Is there any way you can release the teams in pkg format with the rosters, kits, flags and logos?

The menu and load time lag remain even after the patch is uninstalled. I had to re-install the game to fix :-(

Hoe do I actually play the league? I've installed it to my FIFA directory....D:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\FIFA 2003...but there is no icon to run the game except one that you can choose a scoreboard with

I've gone into the game itself and still cant see any league that looks like it  what gives?

Yep, me too. Patch does not work for me. Trailed through every league in FIFA 2003 and cannot find the A league.

Sorry to be critical, because the kits and other graphics look brilliant (as is the norm for FIFA Concacaf). Shame I can't use this patch though.

And how exactly would this fix the problem? I'm not-re installing something that has tons of updates, new kits, flags, chants, etc etc etc because a patch don't work...i'm sure there is a proper solution to this.

I'm sorry to hear some people have had problems. We tested and retested the patch before it was released. Is EVERYONE having problems or just a few?

Just to make sure, everyone knows that once you install the A-League.exe file to your main FIFA folder you have to run the FCPatcher.exe file (which should popup automatically right?) and click on A-League and "install"....

My hypothesis (based on the fact that chwein is asking for a .pkg file) is that the EA Creation Centre is interfering with the patch. The A-League patch (and all of FIFA CONCACAF's patches) overwrites the main FIFA files... but not the ones that the CC uses. Those files are found in a default directory. If you don't want to uninstall your CC .pkg for the duration of play with the A-League patch then you can either a)just use the Belgium league. The team names won't be there, but most of the graphics should be. or b) try copying the files from your FIFA 2003/FC/A-League folder to the CC default folder (not sure if this will work though).

The A-League patch is not compatible with the CC patches, which is why I spent a TON of time working on the FCPatcher so you could select to install/uninstall the A-League patch very easily. The easiest thing is uninstall the .pkg file (save it first), run the FC Patcher and install the A-League. Play and then uninstall the A-League and reinstall the .pkg file using the CC.

I have no idea why the loads are taking so long for chwein though... The could depend on your graphic card (especially if the problem pressists after uninstalling the patch). The install of the A-League backs up all the original files so that an uninstall will return your fifa to it's previous configuration.

I hope that helps....

strobe_z, the menu and load-time lag remained even after I uninstalled the patch but went away after I re-installed the game.

The kits you made for the A-League teams look fantastic in-game.:rockman:

I don't know what could be causing the slow down.. are you refering to the load between the menus and the actual in-game kick off?

Like I said, the patch backs up all the files it replaces, so I can't figure out why it would do that..especiallly after uninstalling. FIFA can sometimes be touchy though... crashes and lags for no apparent reason.

I'm glad you like the kits though. I never use the CC, so I don't know.. but would it benefit anyone if I released the .bmp files of the flags and kits? They're "raptor" compliant... :)

That may be... but Canadian and American players deserve patches too! Maybe the European players don't know what they're missing... :D

Thanks!

I tried to read through the comments, but my Dutch is a little rusty. Seemed positive though.

Maybe I'll have to make a patch for Netherlands Antillies next! :P
