A question for those of you who are familiar with the game editor

I am not too sure how this applies to all leagues and also I am using last year's edition.

With the MLS , some of you may or might not to know or care, but Miami and Tampa are no longer in the league. I wanted to put them in the A-League and then promote two clubs from the A-League to the MLS.

I go to editor and league selection.... I delete each team and then replace them. The computer saves everything so that means it should be ok...usually the computer will tell me I can't move them, but so far everything works. It's only when I go to start the league and the computer starts to run the MLS league that in the middle of the original setup I get a message like ... File Error USA.V328.

Anyone have any ideas ? When I go to the editor page, there is always a message at the top of the screen that MLS teams can not be deleted or changed...I'm able to move them around in the editor, regardless of what the message says, but I just can't run the league.

Is it possible to make up leagues of your own to run. Euro super league or a surper world league ??!?! Any help would be appreciated this one is pissin' me off ! Thanks !

I believe that there is a program called TeamSwap available somewhere (try http://www.sigames.com/). Restore your data to the way it was before and try that program out, it should fix your problem.

can you not swap the teams in the game editor

Yes but it means messing about with last position etc, whereas using this program does it all for you (and is much easier).

Thanks a lot for the great advice Tom.... I downloaded the TeamSwap item... unfortuntly I still get the same error message. It seems that my computer just won't let me swap teams ? I am still not doing something right ?

I followed the directions in the read me file and still the error comes up when I load the USA league.

Well you could reinstall CM and try it again. It should work, although if your data has been modified before it might be the cause of your errors.

Another option would be to look around the net for a new data update for the game, although there's unlikely to be one available for CM00/01.

Thanks.... I have a wicked team going right now using Southhampton .. so I don't want to erase Cm just yet. Although I am eager to see if this teamswap works, so I'll probably go ahead and reinstall everything.


What about the current version of CM, would it be easier for me to get a better version of teamswap .... or should I just wait till the end of the year when CM4 comes out.

Any news if CM4 will finally let you alter the leagues and teams ?

If u reinstall CM, just back up ur *.sav file for the southampton save game, and then u will still have it with a fresh install of CM. Their is no use using swap team, if the database already has an error.

Thanks again for all of the advice..it's hard finding an American who knows anything about CM.

As for the error messages... I only get them when I swap two or any amount of teams around.... when i switch everything back the way it was , it works just fine. Does this change the situation any ?

i tried messin up the scottish league so i can have a random number of teams from different countries competing in all 4 scottish divisions, then i tried loadin up game and i came up with error, so that prob what happened, u can only add no more than 2 teams in i think
