A simple question

I know the tactics screen is divided into three areas, for strikers, midfield and defenders. However I need to know, say I want to position my wingers as far up field as possible to gain more attack, this would mean they are in strikers third of the pitch. Does this mean they will play like strikers because they are no longer in the midfield third, or still play like wingers like i want them to, or doesn't the simulator work like that.

The best way to see how the simulator works is to get the analyzer...it's hard to say actually, but I figured tackling is much more important for midfielders (if you got good ones ofcourse) than for defenders, as midfielders get some 30 tackles and defenders only 10 or so...maybe works the same for attackers, and I don't have expirience with wingers.

Well, my wingers take the odd crack at goal and sometimes score from an angle. But that is very rare, they mainly cross and pass balls into the main striker or to the pushing forward mid, so they play as mostly midfielders, but it's best for them to have a fairly good shoot.
