The only English player i can think of would be Owen Hargreaves...
Well, are we talking citizenship format or where they were born, wasn't he born in C-eh?-n-eh?-d-eh?..(he played for Calgary Foothills FC in that case)..

Well, he's only eligible to play for the English national team, so he has to count regardless of his place of birth.

Bobby

The Legend
Sharlie Joseph for Grenada, played his whole career for American teams.

Bobo Balde has never played for a team in Guinea.

Kasey Keller.

Keller played professionally in the US in 1990, in the Western Soccer League.

Claudio Reyna, on the other hand, has only played in the US during college.

Ireland must be able to piss this one.

sure, already made that point too. Wales, NI and the Republic of Ireland will skate through this.

I definitely think there are plenty of others who can do it though.

Australia maybe? USA? Finland?

Fernandez

Team Captain
Plenty of African countries might also skate through this. I believe Mahamadou Diarra hasn't played in Mali before. Momo Sissoko as well although he was born in France.

Claudio Reyna is one isn't he?

i mean he has not played in the MLS or equivalent before MLS?

Harry Kewell and Lucas Neill are 2 also who have never played in the old NSL (as it was) and obviously the A-League.

they are the only 2 in the Australian squad i am sure that have not played in any top league in Australia NSL or A-League.

Owen Hargreaves fits in the criteria, doesn't he?

And Pauleta for Portugal. He did play in União Micaelense and Estoril, but they were in the third division. From Estoril he jumped to Salamanca when they were in the Spanish Seconda Division. And we all know the rest of the story :p

For the purposes of this thread, you are a national of the country you repesented at football.

So for example, Ray Houghton isn't Scottish on this thread. He is from the Republic of Ireland!
