We had many theads asking about what pad to use for pc.. well.. someone posted this pic on the official community forums.. so I figuered I would post it here as well.. is just like the ps2 pad.. but for pc.. and is made by logitech so it shouldnt have any compatability problems with the EA games..

I bought a no-name brand gamepad today from a discount shop here that is just like that ps2 style for $10 CDN, which is about 6 euros. Seems to be working OK with vice city. havent tried fifa 2003 yet.

Anyone tried this gamepad?

I brought one of those PS2 USB converters for playing with your PS2 controller on the PC today. It works, but you really have to press the buttons hard. Anyone else notice this?

I was thinking about getting a USB converter but if its not as effective as when on a PS2 then i'll have to look around, but that Logitech one looks alright anyway

I wanted to use it for Madden 2004. But since it doesn't recognise the controller as a PS2 controller, the icons above the players heads are not triangles or squares, but numbers. And it is hard to keep track.

It'll probably be the same with Fifa 2004 then, do u think they'll make the game so that a PS2 controller is compatible with it?

One of my friends from the UK was gonna pick it up.. but is not for sale in NA... about the icons.. you just have to get used to which button is 1, 2 or 3 and then you'll be alright....

I have a usb adaptor.. and I have noticed the same thing Matt is saying.. and when you play online it adds an extra sec of lag that my other pc pad which is a logitech as well doesnt have.

So, you have tried the dual action gamepad on Madden 2004? Besides the number thing how was it?!
I would really appreciate an answer since I´m thinking about buying both Madden and Logitech dual action gamepad.

Cheers!

ehh Do you need a gampad with two analog sticks or what!? because i have Microsoft sidewinder gamepad pro and its works fine with fifa 2003 but what with 2004 you have to control both passer and reciever is thats possible in 2004 with a gamepad with only one analog stick??:o

I dont think you'll control both passer and receiver... and anyway.. I guess we'll find out more towards release date.. obviously 2 analogs are better.. since that seems to be the future of games

You do control both passer and reciever in FIFA 2004, but you definitely a dual analogue stick to do this.

Looks like a PS2 Pad Clone, tempting, its £12, probably way better than my 6 button Sidewinder with 2 buttons at the back which cost like £10 more, I'll never buy from MS again.

I might get this, or shellout an extra few quid for the Rumblepad, but then again, the Rumblepad does not have 4 trigger buttons(like PS2) at the back like the Dual Action Gamepad by Logitech according to the product specs.

Its tough choice, but I'd rather go for the Dual Action, better for price, and is a basic PS2 clone(with the 4 trigger buttons at the back, which is a must for FIFA In my honest opinion, although my Sidewinder managed to cover up all buttons last year, but I think my Sidewinder is ooooold).

Well, I seriously dont know what im going to do.

This PS-Connect thing, where you plug it into the USB port, then plug ur PS2 PAD into the PS-Connect gadget, is the same price as the pad I might get. (Pad - £12, PSConnect - £13 - 14).
