BOAVISTA!!!

yeaah, that's right!
-----
Abramovich quer comprar Boavista 9 Julho 2005

in Expresso
-----------

The news was published in a portugues newspaper and according to people I contact with down at the club it appears to be true, Abramovich will be buying shares of Boavista, and it will lead to the increase of Boavista's budget

For what I heard, he'll be buying 20% of the club's shares (for portuguese fans, for comparision, the Loureiros own 10% of the club's shares...). This will mean the club will get 2,5M€, and will take place until the end of the year.

Anyway, I couldn't be happier :D Hopefully this will help Boavista resolve their(neverending) financial limitations

PS... I still don't like Abramovich, but hey :D better then stayin' poor!

MSI isn't owned by Abramovich, it's by that guy that owns Corinthians.

That's typical newspaper BS.

The contacts with MSI are denied by Boavista themselves.

From Maisfutebol.iol.pt

So this means you'll be receiving some cash but there is no connection to MSI and Abramovich hasn't got anything to do with this, according to your club.

I still think Boavista can do a good season with Carlos Brito, even without the help of MSI. He says the team playing style will be more atractive for the public, and that will be shown on the results.

well, today in 'O Jogo' came an article saying 'MSI e Abramovich podem entrar no capital da SAD' and a source from the Boavista SAD saying that 'o assunto vem sendo tratado há muito tempo e até ao fim do ano deverá estar concluido'

I read this article last year about Abromovich investing to build the Chelsea empire. He has business ties with CSKA Moscow and FC Porto as well as Santos I think although that doesn't mean he owns the club. This probably has something to do with him trying to improve Chelsea.

seriously, i'd be glad if he bought boavista..a club with some history now and one of the biggest in portugal..the only problem is their finances, and with the 'russian wallet' on their commands, not only would the problems go away for them, but arrive ate other cluvs in the superliga:p(mouros, for instance:ewan: )
