It would not surprise me one bit if Half-Life 2 is released in DVD-ROM only

it would suprise me considerably, as they would be stupid to do so losing half their target audience, not everyone has a dvd-rom drive ;)

But he is not in the game!! Damn i would like have him. Anyway there will be a patch about him.

i cant see that happening either, you think someone is going to make a patch that actually adds functionality to the game? i dont think so...

Collina is in the game. Just not under the name "Collina" for some strange reason. Have a look, there's a ref that looks the spitting image of Collina in PES3.:)

Stop living in the 90's and buy yourself a damn DVD-ROM!!! (H)

You've got to realise that DVD-ROM is becoming standard, and all companies will follow Konami - Microsoft, EA, Epic, will all eventually go DVD-ROM. :) It would not surprise me one bit if Half-Life 2 is released in DVD-ROM only.
Hey dont worry i have the dvd and a powerful computer (im no kid). I just see al ot of worried people...and Konami wake up and make these things clear for ur customers...MUAHA

Then wtf does it say cd-rom on their homepage..very confusing isnt it...muaha

the game should be released on cd-rom only
each language pack is around 700megs.
a proper game install with 1 language is only 600-700meg.
i dont have a dvd drive, so i guess i'll need to do it in another way... but unlike fifa2004 (which is utter crap), i'll buy the dvd version just to keep and support konami

I don't have DVD in my computer, i have a DVD in other room with a big TV , home cinema and that stuff, so if Pes3 is released only in DVD i wont buy it. I think is stupid to pay 35€ for the game and about 50€ for a DVD rep. that i only will use for PES3... Im sure we will see more games "DVD only" but not in 2003.

Emule time...

It may not be 2003, but it may very well be 2004, but whenever it may be you will have to get a DVD driver sooner or later. They're already cheap enough now and likely won't get any cheaper, so why not just get one now?

so what is the difference betweent he dvd and cd-rom version? I only have 1 dvd drive and dont want to bother moving it to my gaming pc if the dvd version just has more langauages and no other features.

There won't be a CD version will there? Usually it goes the other way round(Baldurs Gate anyone?). You get a game on 20 zillion CDs and then as soon as you've finished they release it on DVD.

A DVD drive will not cost you €50 - unless you buy it from somewhere like PC World which is overpriced. More like the same price as the game. Go to an independent computer store and most likely they will have OEM DVD drive for half the cost.

€30 on the game, €30 on a DVD drive which lets face it wil be used in the future works out €60 or about £40. OH! The same price as the PS2 game.

That said, I was quite slow in going to CD-Rom from floppy disk so what do I know.

Guess there will be NO CD version after all. This is the readme file from the full game.

* Shut down all non-essential Windows programs, especially online chat programs, virus checkers, and screen layout utilities.

* Regularly defragment your hard drive.

* Increase your amount of free hard drive space

* Reduce the hardware sound acceleration level: Click on the Windows Start button, select Run, type "dxdiag," press Enter, click on the Sound Tab, and slide the Hardware Sound Acceleration bar to "Basic" or "None."

* Reduce the resolution size and quality from the PES3 Settings Menu.
