Adapting AI?

some weeks ago there was the claim that PES2 had an "adapting" AI, that is the computer would "learn" your style of playing and tune its moves accordingly.

does anyone else have the feeling that the CPU in PES3 is harder to beat the longer you play (in one session)?

i've had this for quite some time now that a first game (of, say 10 per evening) is slow and easy, but the later ones get consecutively faster and harder to keep up with.

don't know. maybe it's just me getting worn out and unconcentrated...

It's a fact, mate.
The AI does adapt to your playing style so if you go down the wings a lot of the times and get in good crosses that way it will concentrate more on defending the wings forcing you to change your tactics and go trough the centre etc.
Very clever AI!

yups
happens to me all the time

by the 3rd or 4th consequtive game, the AI defense makes it harder to keep playing my most common moves

actually it doesnt even take THAT long. at the kick off, i usually make a run a down the sideline & from the very next time i try to do that again, u can see the AI defense getting harder to beat.

smart as eh!

I personally dislike the idea, it would be good if the ai adapted during the game but in a game afterwards the AI should forget wot happened the game before, especially if its a different team

In away this adapting thing is good, but i kinda agree with you. Teams should have different ways of playing, and some teams prefer to stick to their own game instead of playing to stop the team.

Ive noticed also that they have adapted attacking styles aswell

yes i also have experienced this. the first game i won 2:0, the second 1:1, the third,4th and all the games after i couldnt win anymore .. lol .. the best result was a 3:3 in the 90th min.
i've played on 4 stars!

well i've come 3rd 5 seasons in a row in div 2. i would start the season great, and then slide downwards as the season went on. very frustrating, i just want to get promoted. the only reason i can see this is that as the season goes on they cpu learns my style of play and manages to nullify it.

Strange...I play 5-6 games a night and I usually lose the first 2 games and win the rest.

I don't pattern to any kind of style. I just look for the open man or I try hard to steal the ball deep in thier half. But when i'm frustrated I will play lots of longballs hoping for one to drop just right for my forwards.

Teams have scouts out to observe their competitors all the time so I think including this in the AI is great. Real smart :-). Can't wait to get my hands on PES 3 on PC!

i do not like the idea much either. i think it's realistic only when it happens during a game as monkey said.

why should Real Madrid for example benefit from how AC Milan has played against me a game earlier, and they themselves tune their gameplay to be more effective than the one of Olympique even earlier. doesn't this offsets the whole player/team strength parameters? and it's on top of that adding to the already heavy pro-CPU bias of the whole game. almost as if all CPU teams have a conspiracy against you ;-)

by the same token goes the noticable lack of any influence the standings have on teams. i mean, Barcelona for example, will always shoot the crap out of me (level 4) no matter whether they are first or last in the roster. not to mention that "Froibaad" will always score at least once.... argh.. (still, fabulous game, no doubt...)

i'm both for and against... I agree it's kinda naive (IRL at least) to expose your left wing for example knowing that the opposition's main strength always comes from the right.
On the other hand, I also agree that the big teams should impose their style of play rather than try to adapt to yours.

So maybe they could make the smaller teams adapt/play more defensive against you.. while you're gonna have to adapt to the likes of Real Madrid :crazyboy:
