Adding new teams with UniDB

Hi, maybe I'm discovering hot water talking about this topic, but I tried successfully adding a new team in FIFA 2004 database.
I converted fifa.db file in a .mdb one, by using UniDB (the program by Hercules, contained in ECPEdit). Then I corrected all the tables inserting the new team (Holland, with ID 1339) and I rebuilt fifa.db. After the changing CC works properly and there's actually the dutch team in the International section. After importing kits and dutch players from the other teams I was finally able to play.
The only problem I got were the kits.
They are all red and green as when you try to import a new player face without CC.

Any clue from you?
Thanks
Fiordy

You have to edit the file with Access again, adding the kit information in the "teamkits" sheet, and put the kit files in the FIFA main folder (playerkittexobj.texobj463104248046875__texture23__0_0_1339.fsh - home kit - and playerkittexobj.texobj463104248046875__texture23__0_1_1339.fsh - away kit). I think you can do all of that with Creation Centre (including the "adding kit" part).

Ok guys I solved the problem with the kits, :drevil: I successfully installed them in 2GK! The team is working fine. The last step would be to install badges, flags and minikits for menu.
I explored the file 78.big in the gui/team directory and I found many flags about other countries not in the game (Wales, Holland, Japan, ...): the point is how to link a flag to the respective team? Editing the fsh file contained in 78.big shouldn't lead to anything, cause I read the index file and there are no links between bmp images of flags and the teams. I wonder how to open the other files in 78.big, such as 78.apt and the others. Maybe they are useful to link bmp with teams...
Please let me know if you've got something to suggest!!
Bye:D

Sorry Van but I've no experience with TCM 2004. Maybe it has something to do with Football Fusion but all I can do is suggesting a good search in the forum, cause in this way I was able to find many answers to my question...
Many things were already discussed deeply in the past!! :read: :read: :read:

Adding badges for new teams

I tried reading through this message as well as the other messages in the forum. I learned how to replace the team badge when you modify one team to make it another team, but I still haven't learned how to add a team badge for a new team that has been added to the database. I can't find the link between the database and the graphics files. It doesn't appear to be in the *.apt file or the *.o file for the league. Can someone help me?

Thanks!

Fiordy,

Thank you for your reply. I am using a hex editor. I did read that other thread all the way through, but I still don't understand how to add a new team badge. I saw that the team ID's are at the end of the *.apt file and I see that it is easy to replace one team ID for another, but how do you add a new team ID? As a test, I'm trying to add an additional team to the Korean league. Can I add a new ID to the area circled in red on this picture? Also, do you know what the hex IC 0D mean? Do these bytes need to be modified as well?

Thanks,

To solve your problem I acted in this way: I added Holland team to the database and the menu logo was in 78.big in gui/team directory. I noticed that if you try to add a new team in the apt file the game crashes. This is due (in my opinion) to the bigger dimension of the apt file. You should never modify the dimension of a file in fifa 2004 otherwise the game crashes. The solution I propose is to explore the fsh file of the league you're going to add a team and see if there are bmp unused. If there's someone (like in the case of 78.big) you can use that bitmap (linked to a team) to create your new logo. After this you can go to the apt file and check what is the team id corresponding to bmp you modified; this is easy to get because team's id are in the same order as bmp files in fsh. Modify the right id and it's done.
I wonder if there's a way to completely add a new badge without using an unassigned flag as I told you. If someone knows the way, would he be so kind to write it down in this thread.

Fiordy,

OK, thank you for your answer. Now I understand better.

I was trying to increase the size of the *.apt or *.fsh files, but the game crashed every time I tried to change the file size. I see that you have had the same problem.

Perhaps one of the other patch makers out there knows of a way to add new elements to the *.apt, *.fsh, or *.o files. Can someone help with this?

Thanks,

I'm sorry if I sound stupid, but wouldn't the ID technology be a possible soltuion (eg. put the "*.apt" file and "#.big" in FIFA main folder)?
