ADSL Modem Problem

I got a problem with my adsl modem which works fine before this. It says that the modem doesn't support my OS, that is XP. The modem actually not damaged, it just won't work after i installed the driver. I've tried to reinstall it and even reformat my system but still having the same problem...it's kinda weird coz it works fine before(on XP). Hope someone could help me out :)
btw, i'm having D-Link DSL 200I ADSL modem.

That's because ur drivers are not designed for XP. Just for win9x. Look if in the cd there are drivers for win2k or xp. Else go to manufacter site and download newest version for xp.

ergh. Unistall device (and drivers of course) install device again from Add hardware wizard press next on first screen windows will detect new device. Select a device from the list modem and let windows detect ur modem or choose which on u got from a list manually.

Also before unistalling try seeing windows help.

from what i managed to read up about ur modem specification i can tell you can't really access your modem through any web browser right?

in that case, you can try this...

start->connect to->show all connections->create a new connection->connect to the internet->setup my connection manually->connect using a broadband connection that required username and password->just type in ur ISP provider name or whatever u want->finish

then right mouse click on the new connection you created go to properties then click on the networking tab and select on TCP/IP and click on properties click on the use the following DNS server addresses and enter your ISP DNS server IP address and click on ok then u r finish.. you should be able to connect now by clicking on the connection icon just like normal dial-up modem
