Game set on pro , Im playing as Barca and pushed up near on the half way line a through ball splits my back 4 sending Klose away through he gets on to the ball and is off and running with my players trailing, he gets about 8yrds and turns back ????? come on !! what the F? He was clear and running with a clear run in on goals ...


Other times , cpu players turn and beat me and can be away, what do they do ? turn back into my chasing run. Players out wide , running up the wing , with a clear run , turn back then left right all with in a players turn radius , Id see the point if there was someone closing him down or trying to tackle him ..

CPU defence ? I get ronnyboy on the ball and drive across the box, player just stand and let me by no attempt at closing me down or a pressing tackle..easy goal ...

Other , messi .. 6yrds out on the wing I turn into the box, still 6yrds out I make a straight run , as I close in on the edge of the 6yrds box the keeper is still standing in the middle of his goals no attempt to close the angle, I run into the 6yrd box and heading right at him , still he stands there I get to within a few yards and just hit the ball past him into the net ...

A lot of stupid cpu twists and turns when in the clear , turning back when clear beyond the defence , keepers not closing down when coming in from the wings ...

Its a step in the right direction but a lot of work still has to be done on AI, ball may be free , but there is still a sense of scripted goals , ? running at goals be it at an angle or straight in , press shoot and the ball with be shot at goal be it right or left or the keeper even though I have the analog stick pulled down or up into the other corner ..

All these things I see cpu player doing , silly twists and turns and turning away from a clear run to turn back are the exact same things Ive seen in FIFA for years ...

It seems to be that way all on all the settings with weird defensive AI. Perhaps EA has limited the AI in the demo to act only on semi-pro no matter what you do with the demo expander, or they messed the AI up big time :\

I was told many many moons ago on this forum that EA don't release betas ! What you are playing is a demonstration of the game , not a beta!

When i have been playing the CPU has gotten past me a keeps running and always scores unless my keeper dive the right way. Goal Keepers start charging at me if one of their players cant get to me. Its Perfect. Dont know why its doing it on yours Mighty Tic.

Well I just played 15min game there on WC , Lyons 5 ManU 5 ..


I was lyon , manu it was a jump from the pro setting with 1st time very fast passes, not down to frame rate I doubt game far to fast .. But and here's the rub as they say! I stood off utd players and never moved my players towards them. Rooney got the ball from kick off and with acres of space, he runs forward about 35yrds from goal he stops, sidestpes left twice witha roll of the ball under his feet and then rolls is forward , moves off again , stops turns back , forward , side step side step , turn 180 and back again and move off to the left runs to about 20yrds out and passes..

I did this again (this is all on WC setting) I let saha alone with the ball , stood my players off him . 25yrds out he moves out to the wing after a couple of twists and side steps (no one near him or coming to him) he gets to about 5yrds out and cuts into the box near the byeline. He stops facing goals and side steps twice to move out further and then knock the ball twice facing out toward the D , he then turns faces the middle of the goals moves forward , another side step (all of this with non of my players anywhere near him I just wanted to watch this AI ) shoots the ball well wide of the far post ..


Be it semi pro or WC , the AI does the strangest things , at WC class they will score with easy , but at other times and even during the build up to the goals they get , turn and twist and side step and all the rest , when there is absolutely no need to ..
