Aimar to Liverpool?

Has Benitez said anything about Aimar's declarations?

although i'd like very much for it to happen, i really don't think it will. we need a forward, not a midfielder. we already have enough quality in our midfield. if we do buy aimar, one of the midfielders will have to get bumped off and i'm pretty sure it would be didi, who is a quality defensive midfielder. also, lets not forget le tallec who'll be back next season. rafa already said le tallec is in his plans for the future. if he gets aimar, what will happen to le tallec and didi then?

Could happen. Aimar isn't playing a lot at the moment for Valencia but I do think he has had a spell on the sidelines with injuries.

I would like him at the team, but Benitez wont bench Gerrard or Xabi. I can see Garcia losing his place but i dont think it's fair with the guy, he has been doing a good job. We need a new centre-back and a right-back would do since Josemi isnt all that and Finnan still needs to do more to impress. Hyypia is showing signs of age already.

And a target man, considering we waste a lot of chances upfront.

But Garcia has been doing well at Liverpool, so why would Benitez risk splashing out on Aimar to replace Garcia when he could be crap in the Premiership.

The last thing Liverpool needs right now is a midfielder. I'd go for a striker. Mellor is nice and all but not constant enough.

An Aimar-move at the end of the season would make sense, with the potential of Gerrard leaving. It'd be a good replacement.

I don't think Aimar is the perfect replacement for Gerrard. They are of different styles and although you can say they are of similar calibre, Aimar can't possibly do the job Gerrard can on the field.
