American Benfica fans

Youth Team
Any Benfica fans in the USA might like to know they are playing against the NY/NJ Metro Stars this Saturday, May 25th at Giants Stadium. They are also playing in my home town of East Providence at Pierce Staduim against the Rhode Island Stingrays on Monday, May 27th. The funny thing is Pierce Stadium only holds 8,000 people and is probably already sold out. This stadium is where I used to play high school ball back in the mid 1980's and I can't believe such a well known foreign team is playing such a small stadium. I do realize most of their better players are going to the world cup but it will still be good to see them since I've never had the opportunity. The last time they came to the area they played against the NE Revolution at Foxboro Stadium which holds about 50,000 people or so, not that the game even sold that many tickets but I'm sure there were more than 8,000 fans at that game. The same goes for Giants Stadium, I'm sure. It will be a thrill for me anyways since the game is pretty much in my backyard since my family lies a couple of blocks away from Pierce Stadium. Portuguese fans unite! See ya at the game. Peace.

Hi Rayzor127. :)

I'm sure Benfica will easily sell out the stadiums there in the US. Funny, because they can't even get more than 20000 spectators in their own stadium...

Anyway, expect the players to be very tired and unmotivated. They had (another) terrible season and re dying to go on holidays.
