American Needs Pro Evolution for PS2

Has anyone on this board bought the Japanese version of Winning Eleven/Pro Evolution 2 to play on a US Playstation 2? Was it hard to navigate through the Japanese menus? I hear that it may come to the U.S. in March, but I may not be able to wait that long. Help please!

USA needs pro evolution!!

why is it that if you live in the states you are stuck with fifa and thats it???
ok,there are a couple of other soccer games for the PS2 but they are not worth your time.
i am english and have recently moved to the states and i am horrified that i cannot get a konami soccer game!
i feel ripped off! i feel overlooked!...i feel sick, that i cannot play that beautiful game that is sooo good.
heres a strange thing, cant get pro evolution in the big,bad USA...but you can get it in AUSTRALIA...doesnt seem to make sense huh?with the game being so good you would think konami would release the game in one
of if not THE biggest market in the world.fairs,fair...they did release ESPN gamenight for PS2 but it
only has american teams and international teams...''then edit them!'' i hear you cry...sorry CANT!!
no edit mode is available in this version...i bought it at full price expecting it to be the same
as the one i played in australia, but it wasnt,in fact i felt ripped off...this ESPN version only had
half of the options and clubs that the proper version had.
so here i am playing fifa 2002,all the teams but nowhere near the gameplay.
heres hoping the usa sees a REAL konami release in the near future.maybe closer to the world cup???
who knows??...fingers crossed all you american soccer fans, and this englishman living in soccer gaming exile.

I have ESPN MLS Extra Time. While I agree that there aren't a lot of teams and you can't edit the ones that are there, I still wouldn't play fifa 2002. The gameplay is all that counts. I'm American, but I'm a much bigger fan of the Premiership than I am of the MLS. Even with that said, I'd rather play with Extra Time's Miami Fusion than with FIFA 2002's Arsenal. Looks aren't everything.

we missed out!

the european version of the game yo have had all the top european clubs as well as international teams,a transfer market and a master league competition.i bought extra time too but was extremely pissed off when i found out it was a cheapo mls version.football is football and surely more people would rather play with the top european sides than mls teams.most americans dont even know their city has a team.
konami should release the proper european version in the usa.
it had a lot more features than the watered down mls extratime.

you would play an american football game like MADDEN if it only had third rate unknown teams in it would you?

I would play a Madden with third rate teams if the alternative was to play a different game with all the NFL teams and ZERO gameplay (like fifa 2002) :D

I'd at least rather be playing a game that uses the same engine as ISS than to play a game with 10 million teams and no satisfying gameplay. I can't even believe that you've played iss in the past but went back to fifa. I think a lot of people in the forum would agree with me on that. MLS or no MLS, even Extra Time is better than fifa.
