Andy Johnson's rating.

Well we all know EA's nasty habit of rating superb players on bad teams lower then they should be, just to keep the team's rating down. Should this happen to AJ? I think not. He came in second in scoring in the EPL, in front of players rated in the 90s, the season before he came in first in the champ/league 1.

This guy deserves at least a 90. AT LEAST. Even if he will be playing in the FL champ.

But will he get one? Nope. Stupid EA will probebly rate him 74 or something. Ach, horrible. When the CC 2006 comes out I'll have to raise him 20 or something.

I've passed this onto EA. He'll have an appropriate rating for FIFA 06, don't worry about that. Somewhere in the 80's is correct IMO. The worlds elite footballers go in the 90's, I think Johnson is up there, but not in the elite category (e.g. Andriano, Henry, Rooney etc.).

While I agree he should be rated higher, the 90s is a little too high IMO. I think they rate players on year by year performances, meaning one good year does not (and should not) warrant a 90 rating. Now if Johnson can score 20+ the next few seasons and make a splash with England (like Rooney did) then maybe he should be bumped to the 90s.

I do agree that a lot of players in the EL Championship have low ratings (gabbidon who is considered the best defender in the EL leagues not in the premiership is barely 2 stars..)

Yeah, that's why I've changed just about every sodding player in the EPL and Champ's rating with the CC. They are BEYOND bad. :boohoo:

Anyway, I didn't think they were done on a year-by-year basis....odd.

Skill means their Overall. I've been told that Skill has been renamed to overall thos year in FIFA 06, so it'll make a lot more sense.

I think that he definitely deserves to be in the 90s or high 80s. He came in second in a striker position in front of Crystal Palace. Thierry Henry has players like Reyes, Pires, Bergkamp, Ljungberg, Vieira, etc... feeding him the ball. Now I'm not saying that Johnson is a better player than Henry, because he's far from it, but as for what he's done, I think it's far more impressive than what Henry has done. His skills as a striker are excellent.

Im not sure of the exact number, but Andy Johnson has scored a lot of goals from the penalty spot this year. I remember him scoring 2 penalties in one game, as well as 2 others, so that is 4 penalty kicks for sure.

I think a 90 overall striker is someone like Henry, Rooney, players that can score from just about anywhere, and who can create their own scoring chances... thats just my opinnion.

But if your argument is that Johnson is on a crap side its bogus, that would mean Robert Earnshaw should be rated in the 90s. Earnshaw scored 14 goals in almost half the amount of games as Johnson, and he kept his side in the premiership...

consistent players should get that, but its only been one year - it could just be a fluke year where luck went his way.

82 should be the Max..

Er, actually he has been quite consistent. Last season he was the top scorer in the Football League Champ (Div. 1 back then).

The football league champ is not just " a local league" man, its got some qaulity football. I mean, if he scored 50 gaols in the Doc Marten league....you have a point. But this is a wee bit different.
