I think it was a good move for Anelka. Fener can win their league and get to the CL, while Man City can't. End of discussion.

Here are the details of the Official Fenerbahce Web site!!!!

Anelka signs!
30.01.2005

An agreement has been reached with French international forward Nicolas Anelka, following a deal with his club Manchester City. The France international is a Fenerbahçe player for three and-a-half season plus an option of an extra year.
The contract result is as the way our club wished, in fitting with our requests and principles.

Anelka will arrive in Istanbul in the late hours of the evening.

Meanwhile, due to the rules limiting the number of foreign players, Fabiano Lima Rodriguez`s contract will be terminated with mutual consent.

He shouldve gone to Maccabi Tel Aviv, they played CL, they could be in CL next season.

(im sorry, i think in the right atmosphere Anelka is a world class striker. If he goes to Turkey he's isolated from the rest of the world, other than Turkey. It'd be one thing if he was 33, but hes 25.)

Couldnt have said it better myself. Basically any club in the EPL is "massive" by the rest of the world's terms. 9th in the EPL is actaully good considering that the EPL is not a two team league like the Turkish and Scottish ones. (and we do have a 40 000 seat stadium ya know.)

First of all congradulations to fener signing a quality player..

I don't agree with you at all. the top 3 clubs in Turkiey can beat any top league's 9th place teams easily, very easily. We have prooved it so many times. Turkish league is not that bad, its getting to the limits.
