Nicolas Anelka will be in Turkey on Monday to hold talks on a massive €5 million a year contract at Fenerbahce, according to the French press.
Manchester City are rumoured in L'Equipe to have agreed a fee of around €12 million for Anelka, who has made it clear that he is looking for a club involved in UEFA Champions League football.
The 25-year-old is expected in Istanbul at the beginning of next week, where he will continue negotiations on a wage of around £3.5 million a year and undergo a medical.
The striker's deal will also include a clause allowing Anelka to seek a new home if Fenerbahce fail to qualify for the Champions League next season.
City are keen to find a replacement for Anelka, and this could delay any announcement of the Frenchman's exit.
The Premiership side still owe Paris Saint Germain around £5 million of the fee they paid the French club for Anelka.
