If you think about it, its actually a clever move. Ghana will be caught up in the African nations when all the european leagues are in full swing. Maybe he thinks it'll get him too a better team or a better deal. Maybe I'm just over-reacting or reading into it too much.

What's the big deal? It's not the first time a player has declined to play for their birth country. And the kid plies his trade here, which gives him more reason to represent the US.

They both score big goals in big games. Although Twellman still has 14 more caps than Alecko.
