'Another Miraculous comeback!!!'

I find that the 'miraculous AI comeback' is a very common trait in many sports video games. I think the designers do this to make the results exciting but what I've been experiencing lately with my season as manager of Lazio in Serie A is a little out of hand.

Now, I know I've got a long way to go to be considered a 'good' FIFA player as I'm still playing on semi-pro level, but I find it strange that I'm at a point where I'm able to hold most AI teams to 0 or 1 goals for the first 85 minutes of every game but for some reason those last five minutes and injury time my team suddenly can't keep the ball out of my own net. And, this is always after I change to a defensive strategy and fall back into a 5-4-1 formation. I also always substitute for fatigued players.

I'm in the middle of a streak where 8 of my last 11 games turned into a loss or tie in the last 5 minutes of the game. I've been watching european soccer my whole life and I find the 'last minute strike' is actually pretty rare.

I've read some stuff about using man-marking and doing some other things to help the 'dreadful' defense but it just doesn't make sense that everything seems to work out ok for my team until the end of the game.

Trying to enjoy this game,

Why dont you leave it on 4-4-2 and play the counter attack. If you were to secure a 2-0 lead you wouldnt have so much pressure on yourself to hold on to the 1 nil. I think a good way of playing defensivly is actually to attack and win the game by more than 1 goal.

I agree with Bummy. Keep the formation the same. Play possesion if you can. they can't score if you have the ball. Also what is your player switching set at?

The way I play is just to attack attack attack! I tend to win most of my matches this way unless my players are unfit or im against a better team than mine.

I may try to continue attacking but I feel in a real situation with a 2 goal lead with about 5 minutes left teams tend to pull it back a bit. Maybe playing a more counter attacking style might help or just possessing ball longer.

My player switching is set pretty low, I think 1 or 2. What exactly does this setting do, I'm not quite sure?

When you guys set up your man marking, do you set it so that every player has someone he has to mark, or just the defenders? And, do you use a flat back four in conjunction with the man marking?

I find it easy to increase lead from 2-0 to 3 or 4,I i play 4-4-2 wif a flat back 4 and have counterattack on
