I don't like complaining and I love PES 5 but Online play is terrible for me
I have never managed to play a single match without terrible lag it's unbelievable! Never!
Not even once did I get a green sign showing that it's all ok to play a match, it's unbelievable
I've got ADSL cable and I can't play a match!
Is anyone else having this problem? How often do the green arrows appear on your match rooms? I've yet to see one...

this is crazy!

I got PES5 on the day of release, and I have to say that I have noticed there is more lag now than there was in the first few days. I thought this might be down to the business of Konami's servers, but I have heard that the servers aren't used for matches, just to 'match-make' direct connections.

I sometimes find that using 'quick match' is more likely to get you a lag-free game for some reason. Don't know why.

As for green arrows, more than 50% of them are green when I'm looking for a game.

Its pretty smooth at my house...BUT its useless that the half u host the game its easier to play. And i think its too easy to play counterattack attacking football rarely pays off in online games and that PISSES me off since i play posessive games!

In the german and english rooms i get all green arrows, but in italian/french and french sometimes a yellow or even red. But overall the lag is minimal for me, i cant complain.

I only play in the quick match...btw my nick is niceman i have lost too many games cause of defensive noobs!

I can't understand what's wrong.
Could it be you have much faster connections than my 384?
or maybe distance plays a factor since I'm in Greece?
Anyway it's really frustrating, and Konami don't offer any support for non-Germans!

damn! seems only I have a problem

some people told me it's because of the DSLAM and not the connection speed. I don't know what I have to do to fix it though...

your problem is your connection, 384 is amazingly slow and your not gonna be able to play many online games smoothly with that, your upload speed sucks the most 128 is like only 10k/s upload thats nearly as bad as dial up, so i'm afraid the problem is with your connection not konami. The better games become the faster connection that are needed. I got 8mb, which gives you amazing speed, and my games are perfect every time and i get a solid 4 >>>> with pretty much anyone. SO basically if you wanna enjoy pes 5 to the max if its available upgrade your connection, it will be worth it!

The bandwich monitor on my firewall, shows PES5 to only use 8kbs up & down when i'm hosting.

The fact the the game plays so much better when your hosting in terms of friendly AI, ie your players generally miss alot more with their pressure tackles and are easier to get around when your the client shows seriously shoddy netcode.

Thats probably why (rather than the lag) that they have the half-time switch.
