Anyone else think FIFA is on the way up?

I'm really pleased with the return of an ingame editor in FIFA 2005, it feels as though they are now back on track in terms of gameplay (the game is actually enjoyable now) and therefore have the confidence to work on things which should have been, but weren't included due to "lack of time". In my opinion FIFA is getting back to what it once was, a thouroughly enjoyable footie game! It's gone back to basics. I have extremely high hopes for FIFA 2005!

read the feature-list for fifa 2005: NEW GRAPHIC ENGINE --> big on first place :D :kader:
every year they produce a new graphic engine instead of putting their time into trying to make a gameplay...

where did you find the features list?

I deffinately think they are on the way up.
They are already on the bottom....:o

I'm just kidding. Fifa 2004 was a great game, this is even better. Hopefully they will put loads of effort into 05. Of course in the end its not the effort, its the performence. I just hope they pull through.

I don`t know. I used to think that in the WC 2002 game they almost got it right. The air ball, the volleys, shots, passes, deflections was good enough. I had high hopes for FIFA 2003 after that, I tought, if they can make this good for the WC 2002, they should be able to make it better in 2003. But then again we all know what happened in 2003 for the PC version, we got one of the worst gameplay in history, where we can`t never be able to do a header manually, and a horrific big numbers of bugs ( GK catching the ball out of thr penalty box, dribblings was almost impossible, etc ), and not to mention the CC ( in which, some cases cause a guy`s computer crashes and he had to reformat it . . . :f***: ). The point is it seems everytime we think that EA is doing good, they do worse for the next year. They always have something to take away. In 2004 the header was back. But the bicycle kick is taken away ( WTF ???!!! ).

Like hans i also think WC2002 was a great game gameplay wise and also for bicycle kicks, headers and freekicks-but what did we get for fifa 2003-blah:f***:
Although the features like star powers were a bit exxagerated but still.....
why do they have to do it annually by the way-a great game cud do it for them for abt 2 years and they can have time to make anothr good game.
This is the time of the yaer we hav hopes for a good new fifa and wen we get the game .....:crazyboy:

Lazy bastards didn't even fix FIFA 2004 bugs in Euro 2004. Fifa is not on the way up. Only technology is getting better, the actual Fifa series are getting worse with more and more bugs in every new release for you to enjoy.

Nah, I don't think so because last year we had nothing to base our hopes on. FIFA 2003 was absolutely terrible so people weren't that optimistic about FIFA 2004.

This time however there's EURO 2004 which I for one find to be an enjoyable game.

i totally agree. And besides that it looks like they have focused more on the gameplay. And another thing, they said they recorded the commentary from scratch:)

I'm very impressed with Euro 2004, they could have put a bit more effort in to make it seem like a proper game for Euro 2004, like they did with World Cup 98, that was one of the most impressive games in terms of lots of World Cup related stuff in there.... World Cup 2002 of course as well!

It just didnt seem to be in reference to The European Championships to much, apart from the various teams of course.

I found the gameplay to be much more responsive and an overall better experience than FIFA 2004...

I had a thrilling game last night, I can really get into this game, it was Germany vs Italy (I was Italy) in the semi-final of EURO 2004, the game had 3 injuries, 2 penalties saved, 2 sending offs (1 for each side!) and Ballack scored for Germany to make it 2-2 in the 88th minute with myself running down the wing crossing the ball in for a wonderful volley to win 3-2 in the dying seconds, the game plays VERY well indeed.

Yes, there are some bugs that need sorting, as always.... they fixed a few but there are some weird actions, like if you touch the ball facing the goal your bound to walk it into your own net...and the keeper diving through the netting is a bit lame, but hey, FIFA 2005 has what, 5/6 months till its release, imho they got the gameplay spot on now, they just have to work on some other aspects to make FIFA 05 a step closer to Pro Evo.

I can assure one thing...........EA defenitely know how to make
a realistic gameplay...........as in WC2002........the gameplay was
random.......deflections.......fouls.......shoulder charge.........and no
two goals was the same........

But as soon as they got it.........now they will use them very carefully.......so that they can run the fifa series upto 2090..................

If they put all their tricks in one game........they have nothing to offer next year..........

what is the name of fifa2005 site ??????
