apple powerbook vs. PC laptop

What do you guys prefer? What are the advantages of both of them. I'm buying a laptop next summer of 2005 for college. I'm not a big gamer.

then stick ith it

if you are a new user then maybe try a mac

I've been using PC all my life.. i was just wondering what the apple powerbook offers?

Although i do use macs at school :-p

the new iBook from apple is a really nice and lightweight laptop, and it's a great system for the price. It also comes with a free wireless card now too. I'm sorta shopping around for a laptop right now too, but I think I'm going to be forced to get a PC one (the Dell Inspiron 700M, which seems to be the only decent one out there within the price range I'm looking at) because of compatibility issues with the specific work software i use. Otherwise, I'd definatly look at the iBook..

Get an Athlon 64 laptop with Linux 64-bit.

More stable than a metaphor which emphasises stability. (yep, couldn't think of one)

Athlon 64 laptop with XP would be cracking too.

Or even better, an Athlon 64 desktop

well, for that much you have a lot of room to choose.. you could get an Apple iBook fully upgraded with superdrive and everything + a 40GB iPod and still have a bit left over!

or if you're going for PC, with that much money you could get the just released "Sharp Actius MP30" which is a sweet looking little machine!

well it depends on what u intend on using it for.

if u want to use it for traveling much then get laptop

if not then get a desktop
