yeah vista got only one problem with o-edit, and about all vista - its crap, you better use XP with SP 3 now, unitil Vista releases the SP 2

Vista is great, superior to XP in all aspects but make sure to get a computer powerful enough to run vista, otherwise performance will go very shiity. Also, as already mentioned here, you cant run oedit on vista. So if you want to use that program you will have to keep your xp in order to use it.

No, I dont plan to use it. The PC I might buy is a dual core processor 3ghz, 2 gb ram and geforce 8800 gt 512 mb. So do you guys recommend me vista, or xp ? :)

The ram size is the most important I think. I had 1 GB with Vista and it was veeery slow. Since I have 2 GB, it's wonderfull;)

Vista will run without problems on your system .

Thanks, guys, just one last question:
Can some older games (Warcraft III, WoW, NFS Most Wanted, FarCry etc. ) be played on Vista ?

Windows XP was shocking for the first 18 months until people started learning to tweak it, various game patches and Service Pack 2 came out. I use Vista 64 bit and it plays 80% of games with no problem. The other 20% being old games that don't play at all or games like Fifa that run fine but have bugs like menu lag etc.

I'm sure when Bill Gates can be arsed Vista will be as useable as XP has become its just a matter of time. If you are going to use Vista for gaming I recommend turning all the Aero and Visual Themes off, have over 1gb of RAM and a 256mb PCI-E graphics card. It's also quite good to turn unused services off and keep drivers upto date.

WoW, Warcraft III and FarCry all play on my copy of Vista to answer your question.

us Vista x64 if you plan on making a top of the line uber gaming machine. like 4gb ram dual or quad core cpu top of the line video card(s) etc. if you just have a decent machine stay with XP

Get vista but vista x32 in a potent equipment. Buying XP now is like going backwards and refusing progress. Dont listen to noobs who talk shiit about vista. They talk like that because they are retarded who cant live up to date.

Ok, i am going to say it again, If I am going to buy a new PC it's going to be:

Intel Core 2 Duo 3 GHz
2 or 4 GB of RAM
Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT 512 MB

I want it for gaming, for games like Crysis, ProStreet, FIFA of course, WoW, Warcraft III, etc. What would you guys reccomend me, because I am getting really confused right now ? :)

Well first of all, Crysis will be VERY HARD to run on PC...trust me...MANY of my friends have tried...

Since I am pretty familiar with technology, I too, am in the same situation as you. I want to get a new PC but should it have vista or XP?

From what I learned, you'd be better off with XP...many things are still incompatible with Vista (although companies deny it), and Vista is still pretty unpopular...

Not even the major corporations and businesses who ALWAYS have to stay ahead with technology switched to Vista...many still use XP...

Currently people still depend or XP...Vista is just too new...

So I recommend getting XP, but I personally am waiting maybe 1 more year until companies start making Vista-compatible programs.

Hope that helps! :)

Well you might but my dad who works at a pretty large company says many companies prefer XP since Vista poses waay too many problems for them...
