Hi,
So I was watching the Boca Juniors game the other day and noticed the fans behind the goal. Why is it that the first 5 or 10 rows behind the goal will be empty but once a goal is scored the crowd rushes forward to celebrate? Why don't they just sit in those first few rows? I've seen it many times in the highlights and always wondered why. It looks like a good 100 or so people rush forward at the same time. It almost resembles a mosh pit as some of the fans charge forward. I'm surprised people don't get trampled in this situation. (Or maybe they do!)
Anybody ever seen this in a live match and know why they do this? Does this type of celebration happen in any other leagues? In the USA, you are lucky if the fans even get out of their seats to celebrate. It does look like a great party going on in the stands at La Bombonera with everyone dancing and jumping around.
Peace.
