I am now absolutely convinced that this isn't about Wenger. He would spend money if he could. He's not allowed to spend much right now, if anything. Kroenke has to make a compulsory offer for all outstanding shares in the club, and my guess is that the Cesc/Nasri money has gone to that purpose. There's no way that Wenger is this blind, he's just a convenient fall guy/scapegoat for the public. He's never been afraid of buying established players if the club needs it, and the club has never needed it more than now.

Not quite, but contract runs til 2014. Which means, he´ll cost a lot of money, which means, he wont go nowhere before 2013.

And the kid still lives with his parents. I mean, come on, he's not moving now.

Sport-Bild reported three months ago, when Götze renewed his contract, all parties agreed he would definitely see out this season at the Westfalenstadion, come what may. The player realizes playing in a team that's settled and still growing is more advisable at this stage. Even his agent is convinced that it would be too early to go abroad for him.

[...]

Germany football's worst-kept secret will be well and truly out once the Champions League comes around. At that point many supporters will ask "why didn't we bid for him?". The answer is, your club probably did.

I could possibly agree with this. I was waiting for post match reaction of Wenger and he was praising Man UtD. He made erratic decisions like subbing the holding midfielder for an attacking one. He had no expression of pain or guilt in his face.

EDIT: Even considering the fact that he is a loyal guy why he isn't he saying there are problems and he has his hands tied? I honestly believe if he speaks out each and every fan would back him and ask for a change in the board room.

I suppose you could even wonder if Wenger is intentionally having his team play like crap to make ownership loosen up the purse strings. Kind of an "ends justify the means" thing. He IS an economist after all, this would kind of jive with an "efficient breach" of a contract. I really can't believe the backlash he's getting, what did Arsenal do the 30 years before Wenger got there?

What your saying is plausible. If you watched the Newcastle and Udinese games Arsene went for defensive subs replacing attack minded players and yesterday he subbed the def mid for an attacking one.

As for the backlash he has been getting is ridiculous in a sense because its as if he owns Arsenal and he is the only one working. I tried to defend him at places where people for some reason or another can't stand him to the point that they wish death to him. Defend him in a sense that he cannot be blamed for everything and there is a deeper problem here. Believe me I don't want him tarnish his legacy but he has to take some blame. I want to believe what your saying but he must speak up or resign for the sake of Arsenal. If there is a power struggle and all that then its Arsenal and the fans who are mostly suffering. He could and should have stopped this from coming to a point of no return. He has always had a choice.

Brutally honest........

I don't know, everything might be possible, cause situation in Arsenal is very strange, sad, unbelievable and desperate.

Offcourse we need experienced player. We were talking this from very beginning. You can't sell Fabregas and Nasri, players who were vital for this team and not to buy adequate replacement. Now there is no more time, and with current team we can't have big expectations. Actually, I don't know what to expect anymore.

Defence is not organized, with a lot of holes, and midfield without idea...

We are in for Andre Santos(Fenerbache) for the LB position. Anyone knows how good he really is?

Oh, I don't know about this player, but I watched some videos on Youtube and this guy have some skills! I think we need this kind if player on LB.

So, Park Chu-Young is most likely our new player. That's good, he is great! :33vff3o:

Yeah, he is the Brazilian NT first choice LB atm so thats positive.

Chu-Young is a hardworking tricky player as I've heard. He got 10 goals or so in a crap Monaco team so with more service he might provide a few goals and work his socks off for the team.

Mertesacker doesn't improve your defense, why the hell don't you invest the cash you've got from Cesc and Nasri in quality players?!

Dude, Mertesacker sucks. Bremen had the third worst defense in Germany last season, and Mertesacker was leading the charge.
