Nice last minute signings, though I'm not sure they'll put Arsenal anywhere near the top.
The fact that Arsenal were after Mata for a while, and Chelsea got him very easily kind of says it all. Arsenal don't have the money/team to attract exciting signings right now. A lot of people are criticizing them for not making a big move, but at this stage they would have over-payed for a player who would not have lived up to the price tag.

I'm surprised some of you rate Dempsey in this thread. To be honest I think his technique and positioning are okay, but there are a LOT of players who can match him for that. His hunger is really his only stand out quality to me. I love Deuce, but at Arsenal? That seems really odd to me.
EDIT: Clint is kind of like a homeless man's Rooney. Not as technical obviously, but he's got that passion and is probably best deployed in the same way. I don't think he could fit in at a club like Arsenal where it's pass and move pass and move. He's more "direct".
