Well I played 00/01 and started with man utd and some other hot shot teams, but it wasnt all that much fun. So i started with AS Roma and i have to tell you, one weird team. The first season, I had very little money, as opposed to man utd and the like, but the team was excellent. i even won the Serie A in the first season, but then i guess i messed it all up, cuz i finished 13th, then 7th, then 12th and then 4th. In this last season when i finished 4th i changed my strategy a lot and signed some world class players, but i got them only in the winter break, which ment i had no time ti win the league. The next season i was all ready to win, but i simply could not compete with Torino. i mean i used to beat inter away with 4-0 and such, but then again so did Torino. In our 2 direct confrontations, I got beaten 0-2 the first time around and then we ended in a splendid 5-5 draw. But despite all this, i fnished 2nd and Torino 1st. I'll still get a champion's cup place, but i dont know if i can compete. I'm also in the uefa cup final, but the match is still to come, i have to play Marsillia, who in the meantime have signed Filippo Inzaghi.
I'm also in the Serie A cup final against Lazio, i fear i'll get smashed.
Well, write something so that i can see if this worked, i'm kinda new, thanks

I believe You're probably in the 04\05 season so your players are older... you can buy young players who are in much better stamina and pacey and they'll do the job.. they cant be stopped!!

Well what do u know? I wont the Serie A and the Italian Cup, i have some good good players right now, but some are old. If anyone's intersted this is my best ever starting lineup :)
GK: Georg Koch (some 35 year old german, does a good job)
DR: Anderson (24 year old defender mid (r) from flamengo, 9M value, real real good)
DC: Cannavaro (bout 32 right now)
DC: Delvecchio (34 or so)
DL: Candela usually (34 or so again)
DMC: Vieira (31 years old, damn :) )
MC: Totti (31 as well)
MCL: Raul (30)
MCR: Seedorf (31)
(Well my midfielders switch positions but i have: Aimar (29) Seedorf Totti Ljungberg (30) raul and Zambrotta as well (31 or so)
SC: Saviola (25)
SC: Owen (28) or Ruud van Nistelrooy (31)

I also got some sucky reservs and some subs that dont matter

Oh I also have Vieri and Rivaldo but they are very very old, and they havent played ONE single match for season, lacking match practice and all.

I think one of my greatest era was at Roma..... I bought around 4 players all under 4000 pounds..... I have won everything possible b/c of my ultimate tactic...... try a 3-5-2 with Roma...... you will get far if you know what you're doing without any new players.....

Sounds like a very old team.... but is delvecchio as in marcus delvecchio? i thought he was a striker

Delvechio can play Def/Mid/Att if my memory serves me correctly.
Roma have always been a bit of a bogey team for me, and I believe the trick to stop them is to nick Totti, if they have a bad first season.

The one time I did this I had my greatest ever era with Arsenal and dominated England and Europe for 7 glorious years.

Oh yeah, one more thing. Buy Agahowa early on.
