These are the things which if fixed can put you on par almost with pro evo.

First, forget Graphics because they are fine, stadiums are fine etc.

1. HEADERS

The heading needs to be stronger in the box, not soft taps. It would be easier to have a button for a pass/lob header (when the ball is in the air) and a shooting header.

Your player also needs to be able to head a ball when unmarked anywhere on the pitch. The same applies to the cpu which always heads weakly at goal.

2. DEFENCE

More man marking needed. the a.i needs to be tweaked as so your remaining defenders cover a defender out of position, for example your full backs far too often in F2003 stand out wide doing nothing. Tactics need to be implemented to allow zonal or man marking.

3. TACKLE VARIATIONS.

There needs to be a few more tackle variations other than just a sliding tackle and a steal.

4. A.I SHOOTING.

The computer needs to be able to shoot from outside the box more regularly, and to be able to lob and shoot for the top corner. All too often the cpu will simply pass its way into the box and shoot hard and low, which gets repetitive. The only time i have ever seen the cpu shoot high is at frekicks and in the dying seconds of a match. Its not near good enough.

5.FREEKICKS.

The direct at goal freekicks are fine. however the outfield freekicks are not accurate enough, and the players dont position themselves properly. For example when you win a freekick near the halfway line, at least several players are standing very near the kicker. that wouldnt happen, they would be more likely congragate on the edge of the box or dispersed from the edge of the box onwards.

6.CAMERA ANGLES

A more intermedate camera angle needed like the old tele cam from 2002 0r 2001.

7. MORE STRATEGIES

The game needs much more strategies in the team management menu.

8. CROSSING.

More balance in the crossing model. If the cross power bar is pushed to the max the ball flies at an unbelievable speed to the back of the box. there needs to be more of a floaty or whipped in cross. some middle ground needed.


******THINGS THAT ARE FINE AND DONT NEED TOUCHING************

1.GRAPHICS
The graphics are great and do credit to EA. However could we get every kit sponsor in? e.g sponsors are missing on some italian teams shirts.

2.FREESYLE CONTROL
I like the freestyle control, i have seen some nice touches, however can the A.I do more of them?

3.ANIMATION.

Spot on.keep it the same or improve it slightly.

4.PRESENTATION.
Gorgeous presentation.

Good ideas. I also think that at free kicks, u should have set formations for each set piece whether it be attacking or defending. Neither Pro Evo or Fifa have addressed this properly.

EG u could set the taller players to mark taller players, and small players to mark the others. Also how many players, you leave back to defend and those who are ready for the counter attack.
Maybe u could set the starting postions for all of ur players and then they will move around to find space, pushing and shoving


They should put the curling feature back on to deliver a cross from a free kick, u could take free kicks according to players movement and getting in the right position, in fifa 2003 for some dumb reason players do not move around. Ref should blow whistle and then u take the free kick

Also you should be able to choose what player you control from a free kick. Maybe u could play from the goalies viewpoint and control him.

good points henry. When you look at E.A's other games like madden and nba, you cant help but think compared to soccer they know what they are doing. Those two mentioned are superb in every way, everything has been thought out to the last detail. Then compare them to fifa. They need a few people from europe on board.

u know what i have applied to be one of their researchers, but they aint said anything yet. i dont mind that i wouldnt get any money, maybe they could mention me in the credits but thats about it.

I am willing to research anything youth teams reserve teams if nessecary, they also need more research of the brazillian and argentinian leagues

cheers. i think it is more than just researching player names, colour, general look. it is also about player attributes, crowd chants. General goings on in a match- time wasting, tactics, injuries, the passions.

also the build up to matches, the team line ups.

that reminds me can u please put the champions league theme in there.

That's the real problem...i can't see where EA will make the diference!!!! AI ????-why defenders still run away from the ball????
animations ideas??? what about a litlle of RED CARD SOCCER ???
Tactics ???? what about a look at the PES/WE series an take a real good idea!!!!!

I used to believe in EA ...unless they build a game with the amounts of "tournments"-even not licenced, but editable-like TIF, a wonderful "feeling" like PES/WE and a litlle bit of 2agression" like RCS, then i'll sure bought the game again

I do agree!!!!! I used to play a lot (Season's mode,mostly) TIF 2003- i think it's a great game for PS2 , with great improvements each year...if they had the Licence, they, surely were enable to make a huge game.I think that game have many good feactures in terms of gameplay and longevity.

In the last interview, Seabass from Konami did say they were looking into buying the FIFA Pro license for the next installment of WE/PES. It's got nothing to do with the FIFA Pro license being "exclusive" to EA, nobody has the right to exclusiveness over it, that's not the way it works otherwise theo the soocer titles like TIF, etc. wouldn't have the real names either. You just have to pay a truck load of money to use the real names and even then you'll have seperate bodies like the Dutch FA who won't participate in the FIFA Pro program or Ronaldo/Brazil who also have certain licensing issues.

Konami, up until this year have known that it was more important to get gameplay right first. Now they have an almost perfect gameplay they can dedicate themselves to improving things like rosters and other tweaks. EA did it the wrong way round and haven't got a game that has good gameplay but has good rosters. What freaking use is that? I can write the proper names down on a piece of paper but it doesn't make the piece of paper a great soccer game!

TIF doesn't have the propers club names...what they have is the FIFPROF "licence" as Konami(except for South Americans players) and as EA. But the search of those companies is about The Leagues and Clubs "licences" that have to be negotiate...but TIF had a fantastic Editor that enables you to change anything you want!!!!!

I do read about that Konami's intention of buying Clubs and Leagues "licences"...it will be the death of FIFA games as we know them!!!!:rockman: :rockman:

I dont have the feeling i have any control on headers. I cant head the ball when in a duel. In crosses the headers are to soft and i cant define the power of the header or direction.
The cpu also doesnt head with power. When a corner is taken i see 80% the same situation, namely that the cpu head the ball softly in the keepers hands....:kader:

The A.I. of the my defenders are too low. While defending the becks always seem to stand far to wide, while the action is in the middle. The defender often "step in" when the other team gives a pass. The attacker has because of this free space to the goal. This especially happens when playing in world class. So i think this is done in purpose to make the game harder, but its annoying.

3. TACKLES.

Again especially in world class i found some bugs concerning tackling. Sometimes when i sliding tackle the cpu he falls en immediately gets up again, like in matrix. Or sometimes the cpu tackles and half way in the sliding tackle he gets up and takes my ball. Not nice.

Else the keeper can easily save it. So there need to be some sort of power meter added, to make it harder to score from 40+mtr.
Also the keepers never dives when a ball goes in. Its more realistic when the keeper tries to save the ball, but punches it against his own post and be ball bounces back on his own head and goes in, understand? Now it seems pre-programmed, when the keeper doesnt dive i beforehand now the ball goes in. Not exciting at all.
The ball speed need to be higher when taking a free kick, now i have the feeling the ball is floating very slow.

more variation in free kick should be added also. When a free kick is given near the box i always try to shoot it directly in, because the other option just dont work well. I cant pinpoint a pass to a other player and a high lob isnt a option since you cant HEAD a ball. So a better worked out free kick system is needed.
- Moving players during free kicks to make a tactical free kick
- Better passing options

I have no control at all here. When i push a button the cpu decide where the ball goes. And its always the wrong place. I want to decide my own power and my own direction of the ball. I know some assist is needed but this is too much assist.

9. THROUGHBALLS.

Also too much assist here. When there are to team mate in close proximity of each other the cpu often picks the wrong one to give the thoughball to. The cpu often seem to pick the striker instead of the midfielder which i commanded to go deep......
Again let me decide the direction of the ball more. If i want to pass a ball in a loose space then let me do it, but wrong througballs always go straight to the closest enemy defender....

10. TURNING

when a attacker recieve the ball when facing his back to the goal he needs to turn faster 180o now he seems to be waiting a sec and turns. Way too slow especially when you try to counter of break out fast, the enemy can catch up easily

11. KEEPER

keeper comes out of his goal too early on some occasion when he doesnt need to. When a striker is on the edge of the 16 the keeper comes out, while there is still a defender in close range and able to tackle the ball, this result in a goal when the striker shoots.
