leagues don't pay to be put in, EA pays them for the licences. and australian soccer would jump if they were offered 20 bucks. the socceroos don't suck(they are in the game), it's just the nsl.

Onyl reason the NSL "sucks" is because people like you(s) dont go to the games. The quality of play isnt that bad and with Frank lowy at the helm of the ASA, we should soon see the Archie Thompsons, and Chipperfields back home at a sucsessful league.

Oh yeh, GO MARCONI(H)

To be totally honest with you all, the reason im into soccer today is because of FIFA. When i bought FIFA2001, I totally got hooked on soccer, game.

If they put in the NSL for the Aussie fans, it would promote the game, and people would get curious about the players and would want to check them out in real life.

yeah i hope frank realises the power of the fifa game. i picture a new national league called "the australian premier league." already the league would have more interest with this new name, capitalising on the popularity of the english premier league. we need a whole new outlook - and if we can get quality players from division 2s and so forth back here and get our premier league in fifa, it would be great. hopefully in fifa 2006 maybe we'll see it but probably it would be fifa 2007.

the main aim is to increase the players wages to that of english division 2 and italian serie C and lower quality euro nations top division levels club wages and the like. and the only way to do that is to get crowds in. it is gonna be hard to get off the ground, but once it is the crowd will keep the players coming in and the players will keep the crowd coming in - that sorta cycle thing. i hope it happens. i can't wait.

BTW, south melbourne 4 - wollongong 0!!!!! nice brace coveny! the champ!

ok

australian soccer
1. quality of play isn't bad, however in the games, it kinda gets too repetetive? like kick, lose ball, kick loes ball, but however sometimes the game is very exciting
2. games are not fast, speed is ok but not exhilirating.
3. NSL is a good league however, 1 thign stops them... NO TV SPONSORS, which equals, they dun get payed much to be sponsored on their jerseys as it doesn't even come out on tv, not much advertisement for the companies. which equals less transfers from overseas which means the league won't develope as fast, also that'll mean the quality of play will not go up, thus limiting the players in the nsl already to experience and develop.
once tv sponsors kick into the NSL around 10 years after that nsl will probably become a quite exciting league

yeah fair enough...the APL would definately catch on to the people of australia, I for one would reguraly attend matches...If we could lure some players from the division 2 in england it would be great, and maybe even retiring greats who want to finish off there career in australia. We could keep working our way up, slowly getting a few division one players, and then eventually some premier league players on bosmans. I remember Viduka saying that he would love to finish his career playing for the newly formed league. Anyway things or on the up for australia soccer, with the 15million cash injection from the PM, hopefully common sense will prevail and the new board will use it the right way.
