Ball Selector - how does it work???

I recently downloaded 'Ball Selector 2' and I've been trying to get it to work properly. I can get it to say it's changed the ball, but when I play a match it's always the default ball. When I go to the ball graphic in the data folder, it's changed, but it never appears inb the game.

What's the deal? Any ideas?

How does ball selector work......... it doesn't. You see all it really is, is the front end of a programme, in other words a JPG with an exe ending

Okay, now I'm getting pissed off. I've spent nearly all day searching for various downloads for this game, and so far I haven't found a single one that works. The download pages are usually on websites that are THE most poorly designed in the world - it's like pulling teeth trying to find the download links. Even if you find a download it's usually on a pay site, or you need to register with the stupid site - I mean these are silly game patches, they're not top secret national security files for Christ's sake! Make them freely available!!! The downloads I HAVE found are either in an obscure format (who but the Germans use *.rar compression???) or they simply don't work.

Talk about frustrating!

One wouldn't think it would be too difficult for someone to simply organize a bunch of the best downloads on a webpage that's simple to navigate. This isn't rocket science, it doesn't need a professional web designer to build a clear website, and it shouldn't take a genius secret agent to get to the good patches/mods. Whatever happened to the idea of open source? No one is going to make a mint off of a bleeding ball changing utility for a bloody computer football game.

People get so f***ing obsessed with bloody copyright and intellectual property - it's just a GAME! If you want your stuff (and your name) to be remembered, make it well and publish it freely! Make it impossible to use or get to and no one will ever use it, and no one will ever remember that you made it.

Copyright is an unnecessary evil.

Just managed to find Ball Manager. That doesn't work for me either. I select the Puma ball, wait the 20 seconds like it says, and then I start the game, choose quick match (or whatever it's called) and I still get the mirrored Mitre ball.

Very frustrated!

Tsk tsk! What happened to your 'spirit of internationalism'? That particular method of compression is more prevalent than you may think. You should use 'IZArc': http://www.florida.plus.com/izarc/.
I agree with you wholeheartedly about unnecessary registration requests...

Oh yeah... IZArc is 'freeware'!

Hehe, I'm all for internationalism, but in this case it's not a question of internationalism. This is a case of one nation's preferred compression type (rar) being used when the vast majority of people around the world use zip. Internationalism would be using the ubiquitous zip at the expense of rar. Using rar at the expense of zip is nationalism. It's like the Yanks claiming that the invasion of Iraq was an internationally sanctioned legal action undertaken by a 'coalition of the willing'.
