Bastistuta and Kaka linked with ManUtd move

BATISTUTA - He has already said he WILL move to England next season. He is also quoted as saying that he spoke to Veron to ask how life in England is compared to Italy. Batigol want's to get out of italy where he feels he has no privacy.

KAKA -
Position : Midfielder
Date of birth : 22 April, 1982
Team : Sao Paulo (Brazil)
Nationality : Brazil

Kaka scored two goals in the final to help Sao Paulo win the Copa Rio-Sao Paulo in 2001. This shows his growing importance to the Sao Paulo first team. He was involved in the Brazilian youth team which won the World U/17 Championships in 1999. He was also at the World Youth Cup in 2001 where Brazil were knocked out at the quarter-final stage. Good form led to a call-up to the Brazilian national squad in 2002. Elected to stay with Sao Paulo despite interest from clubs such as PSG and Brescia. Was part of the Brazilian squad which won the 2002 World Cup

He is being touted as a possible target for Man Utd when the transfer window re-opens in January. Kaka is definately one to watch in the future.

Don't know if he'd be a good acquisition for Man Utd... he's a good player... but needs work in his physical... (in short - plays like a lady)
I don't think he is prepared to face decent defenders... but good player anyway

I for one would love to see Bati at Old Trafford.. maybe Alex can persuade him to join us in January.. we need another striker VERY BADLY!

I don't know anything about Kaka but unless he's going to hold down a 1st team place, we'd be crazy to bring in another non EU player.. we were lucky, very lucky, that Fortune got his work permit renewed, and if we bring in another striker, Forlan will have the same problems in a season or two.

Maybe Ferguson could bring in Batistuta to help teach Forlan how to improve on his finishing skills.

I dont see Batistuta going to Old Trafford for no more than a year if you consider his age.

He will surely cost a lot in terms of wages, but well United were ready to offer Paolo Di Canio £80,000 a week.

Well I think realistically in January, Alex will look for two strikers, as well as following up his interest in Escude. I would like Batistuta to come to Manchester even if it is only for one season, but I think we also need a younger striker too, one that can score goals preferably!

Yes I have seen Kaka play. He is skillful and good. One to look out for in the near future, very young too (20 yrs).

Kleberson is also a good player who should be looked at.

Why do Alex Ferguson always wants to purchase old players. Blanc..then Batistuta? They will at most be 2 seasons worth.

Ya, but Leeds already want him and I don't think Ferguson does.

By the way Sir Alex will also offer West Ham £3m and Roy Carroll as bait to land David James. (Stupendous, what about Barthez and Ricardo).

He is also targeting Brazilian striker Mario Jardel, who has reportedly fallen out with Sporting Lisbon.

Good point deceiT.........:rockman:

The signing I especially dont understand was that of Blanc. He was definitely way past his sell by date and does not belong at a club as glorious as United.

He is old, slow, cant jump, cant tackle.........blah blah.:crazyboy:

I'd say the weakest link at United now would have to be Blanc. Things would be much worst if Rio wasnt there!

If only Jaap Stam didnt write that stupid book of his!!:f***:

why doesn't Batistuta just retire in Boca Juniors, like he said he would have liked..after all its his favorite team:)

I think it is very unlikely to happen.

1. Batistuta was a great striker, he's too old and would want to earn too much money. There's no point in offering him a 40k pounds a week contract, he isn't worth it. (That goes for Blanc as well btw).

2. I don't see why we need yet ANOTHER midfielder. We've got six world class midfielders now while, in my opinion, there's only place for four. Because ManUtd definately needs to play 442.
