With nearly every team in the Premiership having at least 4 or 5 players known the world over. And the best defenders in the world to come up against. Rather than playing against the best one week and then play relatively unknown players for the next four or five games before coming up against anyone with any world class quality.

Well first of all I said NEARLY every team had great players. So please read the post properly before slagging me off. Anyway here is a list of the first choice keeper and back four for all premiership clubs. I'm sure you will porbably have heard of at least one player from each (with the exception of maybe West Brom!!). I'd like to see a list like this from the italian league or spanish and see if it's as good. I'm not saying that there is not good players in this league, I'd be stupid to say that. What I am saying is that nearly every game you come up against quality.

Batistuta is worth at least 12 Premiership goals. He is better than Shearer, and Shearer's doing well methinks.

If people read my post PROPERLY, then they would know that I said that NEARLY every team has a recognised defender in their team. I am not saying we have the best defenders in england I am saying that we have a lot more quality defenders thoughout our league rather than just at the top clubs.
Parra power just out of interest, and I am not having a go, but from how many teams were the defenders in your list from. Because I could have given all of Man utd and Arsenals first team and reserve side defenders and that would have a made a list just as long and about as good.
For example look at Boltons defence, they are one place outside relegation and they have Ivan Campo, Bernard Mendy and Bruno N'Gotty. Not bad a defence for 17th in the league. I know your going to say that they can't be that good because they are 17th, but they don't let in many goals, their problem is they can't score.
I'm saying that even in the bottom half of the table, even in the relegation zone you still have international players in their defence. Yes okay some of these players are past their best, but on their day are as good as any defender, it just doesn't happen so often. But so can be said of Batistuta.
