He, you were lucky to get to see Metzelder. 50 games in 5 years? He was solid though us usal when he's not injured.

Magath was seriously pissed about Brazzo, I didn't get the reason for that either. He was better than Karimi yeah of course, everyone is better than that clown.

Brazzo should be the super sub in my opinion, similar to Scholl's role in the past seasons. He always gives 100% and he can help to turn a game around but it's not enough to be a starting player as he's simply not the same he was a few years ago. He can hardly outrun an opponent player anymore.

Hargreaves will return to the squad next week, he's probably gonna play as a winger. We need him back, he's our best midfielder by far. His pace adds a completely other dimension to our game.

I still think the 3-5-2 formation is the best for the players we have. Most importantly it allows van Bommel to play in the central role.

----------------- Kahn

------- Lucio--van Buyten--Demichelis/Ismael

--------------- Hargreaves

Sagnol --------van Bommel ---------Lahm

--------------Schweinsteiger

-----------Makaay--------Pizarro

Yes Hendrik, I agree this staring 11; we need cover on defence, only 2 players is too hard, with 3 is better, it's the system always used by Ottmar Hitzfeld and this way we won the Champions in 2001. But Magath has his ideas, so I'm sure he'll be going on with the same system......:boohoo: :nape:

p.s. remember the formation in Milano:

------------------------KAHN------------------------

-------KUFFOUR------ANDERRSON-------LINKE--------

SAGNOL----------------JERRY-------------------LIZA--

--------------------HARGREAVES----------------------

------------EFFENBERG--------------------------------

----------ELBER-------------------SCHOLL-------------

Van der Vaart and Sneijder? Would be fantastic but how much they cost?
I hope Ribery or Robben, another defender, a new striker and now we've to think to the future to replace Oliver Kahn who will end his career in 2008.....:)

Rensing is out future as a goalie. The kid just needs some game action to gain confidence.
Snejder is an Ok option and Van Der Vart is too atack minded. Robben would be welcomed.

Makaay
Van Bomel
VdV
Snejder
Robben

Do we really need that many? Do we? :D

You don't have to worry about how much he costs cause there's no way in hell that Sneijder will join BM cause IF he leaves us he will be going to Barca. He recently said that he don't want to play in Germany but in Spain, Italy or England (in that order)

I don't think sneijder would be able to start automatically at barca though

I think he will, Rijkaard wants him and they'll get him too, besides Edgar Davids is back with Ajax as of yesterday so the replacement is already there.

An OK option? Have you ever watched this guy? He'd be a hell of a signing. No wonder Barcelona is after him. We don't deserve players like that with the way we shop around...

I've given up on the title this winter break. Knowing that we won't sign someone this winter just shows that our management has already given up on the title. Even an idiot knows that we can't win **** with that midfield.

Go out and spend some money if you want to win. That's what it takes nowadays. We are one of the richest clubs in Europe, especially when it comes to the money we actually have in our bank, and we still can't buy anyone. Too damn stingy when it comes to paying up. I'm tired of us ripping off other German clubs by taking their talent for no or little money. Now that we have to go out and spend some real cash on a real midfielder, we can't do it. This is the most critical time, yet we're going to "wait" until the summer.

Plus the Flemish/German rock van Buyten. ;)

Yep, we do. Makaay and van Bommel are fan favorites, they belong to the nicest guys on the team. The same with van der Vaart at Hamburg. The fact that he's already their captain at such a young age says it all. And Dutch players don't need much time to settle as they speak the language and the cultural difference is not too big.

You said the same about van der Vaart a few years back though the situation was different of course. You never know, if the likes of Barca are interested the chances for Bayern to sign him are quite slim but we can offer these guys (the same applies to the likes of Ribery or Porto's Anderson) to build a team around them with them being a cornerstone.

There was simply no decent midfielder available that would have helped us now. They tried to bring in some players that were expected to arrive next summer like Schlaudraff but Aachen didn't want to do business. Nothing you can do about that. Now we have to focus on qualifying for the CL which has been the aim since the beginning of the season.

The club's gonna use its cash you can be sure about that, actually we always did it. Since the CL win in 2001 the club's spend more than €150 million on new players and sold ...uh... Andersson and Elber for a combined fee of around 11 million. Bayern actually belong to the top 3 in that department when you take the player sells into account.
The thing is we have to spend it more wisely. Bremen are +3 million for the past years and they have a better squad than us. Ew.

About ripping off other German clubs, that's the only way we're able to compete with the other European powerhouses. Van Buyten for 10 million, Lucio for 12, Ballack for 9 etc. you aren't gonna find the same quality for that price from abroad. And Bundesliga players are actually willing to join us that's another important aspect.

Van der Vaart has a clause in his contract that allows him to leave Hamburg for just over a million in 2008 so they will try to either remove that clause (€€€) or to sell him. Seeing as Hamburg aren't gonna play any European football next year I can't see him staying there. Supposedly there have been talks going on between him and Bayern in Dubai during the wintercamp. The risk is that this guy could very well end up like Deisler. His injury proness is a major concern and will remain so throughout his entire career.

edit: the signing of that "Mr X" midfielder has been confirmed. It's definitely not Bastürk or Altintop, no further hints so far.

We'll see about Sneijder, but van der Vaart..well I always said that he would be playing for you guys, it's only a matter of time.
Rafael wants to play for prizes and let's be honest, HSV is not nearly as good as Bayern. But on the other hand, it also seems that Rafael is eyeing a return to Amsterdam now that Koeman is gone there and he and our new coach Henk ten Cate get along very well.
His heart lies with Ajax:"my heart is red and white and that will never change". is what he says. I think he will play for a year or maybe 1 and a half still in Germany but then he will come home where he belongs..with us.
Edgar Davids is returning to Ajax starting immediately so there is no place for Rafael right now and we still have Wesley for now.
If you would sign Rafael, you'll sign an extremely good player in midfield that's for sure but Wesley... i don't see it happening.

1st half, Bayern-Bochum 0:0

Nothing to see, Schweini is trying something but not so much, only a great chance for van Bommel but good reflex of Bochum new keeper Drobny; Ottl very bad on right side, Lahm and Makaay out of the game, hope something with Scholli or Poldi if they enter the 2nd half, hope to win the match and hope too our brothers of Bochum could stay in Bundesliga.

See you soon guys:)

Bayern IS missing Ballack period. Some of you may not agree, but his presence last season helped us and the season before that he also helped us win the double. It doesn't matter if he had 16 goals and 5 assists(?), its his leadership and self-confidence. The whole team looked up to him. The German national team is built around him and they're very successful. He might not play like how some of you want him to play, but he blends everything together, be it a touch, pass shot or header (lol). We need an attacking player with leaderships skills like his. Some of you may not agree and i don't blame you, this is just my opinion. :jambo: (Y)

0-0 against Bochum, what the ****s the world coming to???

It looks like Hargreaves has to be our savior, he has to establish himself as a leader when he returns to the pitch.

Ballack and leadership skills? You mean when he walks from one end of the ground to the other one?

The problem is our midfield, we lost too much quality compared to last season, not just Ballack.

a class Demichelis, Hargreaves -- > Ottl
Deisler -- > Brazzo
Ze Roberto -- > Karimi

That's just ridiculous, our midfield doesn't even belong to the top 5 of the ****ty Bundesliga.

Another problem is that we have too many out of form players, probably thanks to the World Cup. Sagnol and Lucio have been playing crap all season long but there's no one on the bench that could replace them. Same with Lahm in the past games.

And it looks like Pizarro and Poldi have a competition going on who can put in the most effortless performances in a row. At least Poldi is still young, Pizza is ******* fair-weather player. He can right **** off to Juve.
