Swap Borowski and Ribery, and I think we have a team. Barcelona have proven that you can have your best players on the wing, and I think we need to keep Ribery on the wing where he does the most damage. That's what they do with Ronaldinho and Messi, and that's what they do with Cristiano Ronaldo. We should follow that pattern.

Maybe......;)

I tell you what, those saves against Landon Donovan in the WC 2002 Quarter Finals still break my heart, as does that hand ball on the back post in the 50th minute. :(

I'm still dejected that it was Ballack and Kahn (and the asshole who handled the ball on the back post in the 50th minute) who knocked the USA out of the 2002 World Cup. Probably my two favorite players to this day. I still believe we would have beat South Korea in the Semis. :(

And poor Ballack was suspended for the Finals, imagine if he was in the lineup against Brazil. Would Kahn have made that crucial mistake? Perhaps not.

Ribery was voted Player of the Year in the Bundesliga. He's a phenomenal player, but my vote would have gone to Luca Toni. Toni finished second, Diego third.

He has lost some of his intelligence, since he opted to be a Portuguese. (H)
Kidding mate, i wouldn't mid him, although I'd much rather have Xabi Alonso since he is being linked with us. He is the closest to Gattuso. We need a defensive midfielder. Why take Deco he is way to similar with Borowski which will be joining us this summer.

Returned from the match just now and was amazed to see that the Bayern players were not good at all..........i.e not even close to their best(as Bayern does'nt really have most of their first team players.......Just missed getting Van Bommel's shirt.....Unlucky.......Breno's behaviour is a problem and Schlaudraff looked decent but not to Bayern's standard.....Khan was subbed in the 55th minute and the 120,000 strong crowd gave him a strong and grand reception......the fireworks at the end were also nice.....Bayern are also to build a academy here.......I will like to roll in there...It's a dream.....

You guys can see the photos in the Bayern Munich gallery(official website)..

Rapturous reception for FCB in Kolkata
Magnificent setting for Kahn’s last bow
Modern great Kahn bids adieu in Kolkata

Cheers!!!!

Hans-Jörg Butt agrees switch to Bayern?

I rated him highly at this time with Bayer, but since then he has only played 1match all year for Benfica. Plus he's 34? Maybe he play a mentor type role for young Rensing.

Best wishes for Germany at Euro! As long as Italy don't win, I'm happy. Like Paolo, I can't stand their national team and the way they play the game.

I think Butt is a good signing. He's a solid, established keeper, who will be happy to be the #2. If Rensing doesn't work out, we could use him until the end of the year and then find someone else.

Is this rebuilding part II? Attackers last year defenders this year? I'm amazed Lucio's stuck around.

But what I'm looking forward to the most is Klinsmann coaching. Probably not the best of coaches but he'll take the needed risks and it should be an interesting season with interesting team choices. Maybe more playing time for Poldi. Schlaudraff? Sosa?

Schlaudraff goes to Hannover ;)

I agree, Hleb would be a great coup.

As for Gomez, although I rate him highly he would be wasted in a squad behind Toni, Klose and Podolski. It would be better for the Bundesliga if he stays where he is.

Germany lost to Croatia, meaning they need to beat Austria to go through to the next stage. Should be easy enough..

Gomez is overrated IMO :(

No he is not. I am afraid though he is more of a club player than a NT one.

As far as die manchaft goes: we are sure to face Portugal in the next round, as i doubt we will loose to Austria. A draw should be more than enough since we already have the head to head edge against Poland. ;)

Ribery out for at least 8 weeks. What a blow :(
Lets hope he gets back for the CL group stages.

PS: I saw the pics But. Lucky bastard. :)

I've heard something about Klose, Poldi and Schweini, seems they'r going away from Bayern, so I can only ask u all guys: WHY???????:clapwap:

New players are not coming, we don't need Hleb of course, we got Poldi who can replace Ribery and could play in a wing position like with Germany, we need a new striker, Gomez or other one, Butt don't know, ok he's a veteran but not the great keeper I've seen in Hamburg anyway, Rensing cannot be our new number 1, let's clone OLLI KAHN!!!!!

Klose isn't going anywhere and the other two will probably stay as well, unfortunately. Now would be the right time to cash in on them.

Says who?

Good one. Podolski is an even ****tier winger than a striker. He's simply not Bayern quality.

Hendrik, new players.......I mean a new striker and a new defender; Toni+Klose are not enough. So we could play this way, but Ribery is out til september.....

NOT RENSING GOD I PRAY TO U

WILLY OR LAHM-LUCIO OR V BUYTEN-MICHO-JANSEN OR LAHM

VAN BOMMEL-ZE OR BOROWSKI OR OTTL

Poldi's fine. Remember Klinsmann's coming in, he might now how to use Poldi, that's why I don't believe the rumours of these other players leaving.

Why all the hate man? Who are we going to buy? Poldi and Schweinsteiger are young, German, and loyal to our club. If Klinsman can get the best out of them (which he always has been able to do), I don't know why we would bother screwing up our team chemistry with more new players who might not be as good.

Because I hate their attitude. If you're a prima donna at least perform on the pitch. We got nothing from them in the past two seasons. The only reason Schweinsteiger gets so many games here is because of his status.

Who are we going to buy?
Well Hleb for starters and there's gotta be a striker out there who can replace Podolski's nine goals in two years.

Poldi and Schweinsteiger are young, German, and loyal to our club.
They're soon in their mid 20s, nationality isn't top priority and loyal? Podolski is only loyal to one club, Cologne. He already wanted to move back there in the last winterbreak and was willingly to accept second division football but Bayern forced him to stay.

If Klinsman can get the best out of them (which he always has been able to do)
He had to rely on them as there were no better options available when he coached Germany. Frankly I don't care if they put 10 past San Marino. Both Hitzfeld and Magath gave them a fair chance but they failed to convince.

I don't know why we would bother screwing up our team chemistry with more new players who might not be as good.
The only thing that might screw up our team chemistry is that Poldi and Schweini are good friends with the daily tabloids and love to talk about how the club doesn't have faith in them and they're underrated anyway.

Sorry, I'm a bit sensitive about this topic at the moment.
