I'm happy with one point. :)

The next game is in Lyon. We need to get one point in France and then win our home game. Looks much better than last year.

how's it going bayern fans..even though your team is top of the group right now, they could easily have been sitting with 0 points the way the 2 game shave been. i'm wondering if you are happy with the way they've played..although the red card obviously had an impact last night i wouldn't say they've lived up to the high expectations so far...they can't rely on playing for the last 15-20 minutes of each games to get results like so far...

i personally don't think they're gonna come near winning the champions league this year..group a is going to be very close..i know it's a bit biased of me because i support them but celtic were very impressive last night against lyon. elber certainly was made to look very stupid after his disparaging pre-game comments about henrik larsson who set up both goals while elber apart from one header did nothing,

I'm not happy about the way we played, sure, but we got 4 points and that's okay.

We're well known for bad starts into competitions and then improving.

Considering we're in a bad form I'm looking forward to our team when we're at 100%. Last season we needed 4 months to wake up.

I can't believe he said Bayern plays boring soccer. He must have never seen one of their games, especially last weekends game against Leverkusen.

I am glad that Roque Santacruz scored,to me he is the best forward that Bayern has,he saved the loss :crazyboy:

Makaay is very good also but he still is not at the top of his game

idontknowlater, first I want to congrat you for the winning againist Lyon 2-0 also you were right about that the red card had an impact for the result, but I think for a team like Bayren, red cards or Injury shouldn't effact with the team, I'm sure that all of Bayren fans including me needing to see a great playing as the old days ;) and I'm sure they will make it, I wish for Celtic a good luck :rockman:

thanks musican2004..it was a big result for celtic considering the makeshift defence they had playing and also considering the heartbreaker of a loss to bayern...the double header games bayern v lyon and celtic v anderlecht home and away will be huge for deciding who goes through..hopefully bayern and celtic win both home and away and a draw between celtic and bayern at parkhead sees us both through...ideal situation and easier on the nerves.

Bayern target Kahn replacement

Sebastien Frey has emerged as Bayern Munich's favoured choice to replace Oliver Kahn.

The German international looks likely to leave the Bavarian club in the summer and Bayern see the French custodian as the perfect replacement.

Frey is under contract to Italian side Parma until 2006 but officials from the current Bundesliga champions are ready to meet with the player's representatives in the hope of sealing a deal before the end of the year.

The 23-year-old has been linked with several other teams, including Manchester United, but it now appears Ottmar Hitzfeld's side are favourites to capture the highly rated shot-stopper.

The new stadium is looking awesome. I love the way the colors of it are going to change when Bayern and 1860 play. Simply beautiful and unique.

Now about Kahn... I had no clue he might be leaving us this summer. Since when do you know about that Vince? That replacement keeper seems very promising though, but I haven't seen him play yet. He reminds a bit of Casillas, due to his young age and skill.

I agree Coon, Bayern's new stadium will be awesome! And about that new goalie that we might buy... yes he looks like he would be a good prospect, but we also have Rensig who is also predicted to replace Kahn. They say that he is just as good as when Kahn was that age. It seems like Kahn is losing his form, but he is the captain and he needs to stay at least until 2005/2006. After that, he will retire from soccer and also have won the FIFA World Cup. :D ;)

We play against Hertha BSC Berlin in about 4 and a half hours and these are the line-ups according to Kicker.de:

Starting Line-Up: 1 Kahn - 4 Kuffour, 5 Kovac, 25 Linke, 3 Lizarazu - 31 Schweinsteiger, 23 Hargreaves, 6 Demichelis, 20 Salihamidzic - 24 Santa Cruz, 10 Makaay

Bench: 22 Rensing, 33 Schlösser (both goalies), 14 Pizarro, 17 Fink, 26 Deisler, 30 Lell, 32 Feulner, 34 Trochowski

With Pizarro on the bench, we have an awesome player ready to come in and score.

There were some rumours during the summer break about Frey also in the German press, but this time it's only the English media...

I'd be very pleased with Stuttgart's Hildebrand as Kahn's replacement.

Yes, the Stuttgart keeper is good, and I wouldn't mind us taking one of their defenders either. We can do it, we are Bayern, hehe. ;)

I watched the game today, it was pretty good with a lot of goals. I do think that Kovac's goal was the best though. I have to give it to him, vey nice chip. He trully made Kahn look like a fool. I am also glad that Salihamidzic got a goal and an assist. A good performance by Lizarazu as well, and the whole Bayern team.

By the way, did you see that Pinto guy from Hertha? Unbelievable, that guy dives and falls 10x as much as Ruud. I'm happy that Lizerazu gave him a bit of a push when they got in that arguement though, because Pinto didn't fall since that incident. :)
